Another thing to consider would be that JLC's highest effective weight was 135.

    /end thread.

good lord, if you were a 'fan of Castillo' you would know that was just a shadow of Castillo v. Hatton.

Castillo would wear Cotto down. Cotto is a better boxer but fatigues and can't fight a full fight. How do you think Paulie Maliggnaggi got a career?

    x2 for me.

Both all range fighters, both good body puncher. Both smart fighters. Cotto got a better jab. What pulls castillo apart from Cotto is his Chin, determination and his gas tank.

I think at 140 prime for prime Castillo takes it, 147 Cotto. Cotto is would be way too strong for Castillo at 147.

Wow!! Really?? No sh!t dumbass, I'm talking about posters here who think that size or being bigger win fights. I never compared Castillo and Pac.

nope I picked pacquiao, Pacquiao is just few levels above castillo and cotto, its not just size, its style's aswell, cotto had an outstanding jab, and could box better.

It would have been a close fight but cotto would have taken it in my opinion, castillo never did anything above 135, so nothing to prove to me that he would have had success against a big Jr WW like cotto

Cotto easily beats a 140 pound Castillo. They were in two different classes at that stage.

Cotto wasn't shaky at 140 until he began having struggles at the scales, which he said started around the Bailey fight. I think a Cotto from say the Keslon Pinto or Victoriano Sosa fight would have beaten Castillo in a competitive fight.

A long night with Zab Judah? Isn't that an oxymoron? Dude is a frontrunner.

Anyway, I think it's bull**** how people compare the low blows in this fight to Tito-Vargas.

Cotto got stunned for a split-second, recovered, and was pressing the action when a shot strayed low. Had he been hurt, he wouldn't have been coming forward, he would have been retreating. The low blow in the third round came at a time when Zab hadn't landed a single significant punch in the round and cuffed Cotto behind the head while he was going to the body. Zab was just as much to blame for that shot going low as Cotto was.

Now Tito on the other hand, he got dropped and was seriously dazed. He nearly immediately bought himself extra time to recover by going low.

    Two completely different scenarios.
