Brown's tendency to get off more should mean he wins at any stage of his welterweight career, but the older version leaves himself vulnerable to a KO because of his increased tendency to bank on his power. Exchanging with Lopez isn't a recipe for success.... Early to mid welterweight Brown boxes him to a fairly easy points win.
At their absolute best, Brown by UD. Lopez was as tough as they get, but he just fought in spurts. Lopez hurts Brown, but Brown recovers and outboxes Lopez to a decision.
I like Lopez but Brown was really, really good at his best. People tend to think of him as the pure slugger who got dominated by Buddy McGirt but when he was inspired Brown was actually a very clever pressure fighter. I think this would look like a more competitive version of Brown's fight with Santana.
