A thread got me thinking-who would have won between these 2 power punchers?Lopez has the much better chin but Trinadad has the better offense.I actually think Lopez would have stopped Felix in about the 8th round.

If Lopez could average more then 25-30 punches a round I'd favor him, no joke.

Trinidad was a class and a bit above Lopez. Sure Lopez could bang and Trinidad had an average chin, but The Look could punch as well....

Tito may not have had an iron chin, but it was certainly good enough to keep him at the elite level.

The thing about him though is he had excellent recuperative powers..I reckon Lopez is to slow and to inactive to follow up on a hurt Felix, which would let someone like Trinidad off the hook because he could usually recover pretty quickly.

I think Tito labours through it but takes it pretty clearly on points.

The Lopez many are familiar with was probably only that inactive because he started fighting as a friggin' bantamweight. I'm imagining his stamina all the way up at WW was never going to be great.

When he was like 16 years old though.

By the time he was a 20 year old man he was at welter or close to it.

In comparison Tito was fighting for the national amateur featherweight (57kg) title at about the same age as Lopez was turning pro.

Good fight, both fighters had equal power, but Trinidad's boxing skills were much better. With the workrate & speed also being in Tito's favor. As the rounds mound up, Trinidad's punch ratio would be about 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1. About the eighth or ninth Lopez would feel the effects & Trinidad would close the show.
