that video is absolutely ridiculous. I'm stealing it to show my mates. I would favour him over Benitez at 140, because you don't outbox that. I've always been of the line of thinking that what is the best asset to have when facing Napoles is superior strength, the ability to physically push him backwards and attempt to smash him, you have to break the rythm, and I don't see many doing that with feints and or by dictating the pace with pure boxing. I reckon Cervantes would have no chance against him.

 

Nah, he wasn't strong enough physically mate, even though he was immense there, he was in his element as a smaller fighter. I reckon a welterweight like Basilio would be very difficult for Napoles, see my above post.

I agree with Manassa, Napoles could very possibly be the best ever 140 man, he's certainly up there with Pryor etc for me.

Yeah I was talking h2h actually sorry. Yeah personally I wouldn't favour him over a lot of the really physically strong aggressive greats at 147, I'm talking the highest tier obviously. But that's just me like.

You left out a great 140 lb or so great, Jimmy McLarnin. A tough Irishman fighting in a great era, who could box and had a laser right hand.
But to get real, in the old days when you were over 135 pounds ,you were considered a welterweight in a championship bout. So Jose Napoles,as Barney Ross did, would have to tackle 147 pound fighters...Or bulk up to 147 and slow yourself down...
