Jose Napoles vs Floyd Mayweather at Welterweight

Napoles wins this, I'm very confident. Everything about this matchup screams at me.. Unanimous Dec for Jose. Floyd avoids been kod but for the first time in his life he's knocked around the ring. Jose wipe s the smile from floydy boy!

 

Napoles footwork was subtle and effective like Joe Louis, there`s a film study on it I don`t know how to do a link.

Yeah, I think I've seen it. Napoles probably has the better positioning and is quite good at cutting of the ring but Floyd got the faster feet. IMO the bout would consist of phases where Mayweather manages to stay away from Napoles and does his potshotting and phases where Napoles get's him against the ropes where Mayweather "shells" up. Mayweather is slick enough to avoid the worst in those cases. Who wins depends which "phase" happens more often (thus which fighter can make it more his fight than the others) and what the judges like more. I think this is extremely close. I side with Mayweather because everybody else says Napoles.

I'm going to go against the grain. Napoles wasn't a big welter and Mayweather would have had the edge in speed so I'll take Mayweather on points. Or tko of Napoles gets cut.
I would say Napoles peaked BEFORE welterweight. And his comp during his reign wasn't that great.

 

The first Hedgemon Lewis fight gives reason to think that Floyd, faster with both hands and feet then Lewis and with a much better defense would have made it close with Napoles. Still I beleave Jose's bigger offence put out and non-stop fighting would have won him a fairly clear decision.
