Napoles by decision. Ken was a very gifted boxer, but Jose was even more so. Would be a good fight.

I like Napoles to out-jab Buchanan here, I think he can time Buchanan's jabs and land his own counter-jabs effectivly, also with Napoles keeping that jab out constantly Buchanan might find it hard to get much started.

When Buchanan does try to up his pace and bring in combo's you can see Napoles slicing him open with pin-point counters and combinations, really emphasizing the difference in power.

Although saying that Hedgemon Lewis had sucess with lateral movement against Napoles, so Buchanan will of course have some good moments, I just think his lack of firepower and real versatility don't help him here, but you can bet he'd be trying to the end.

Lewis had **** all success with lateral movement GP. In fact that'd be the first fight I'd pick out to illustrate Napoles' versatility and ability to adapt to a more offensive/work-rate orientated style where necessary.

Nah, its a pretty close fight IMO. Npoles isn't what he was, and Lewis makes him work for it. Good performance by both IMO.

    The rematch is brutal though

Yeah, Lewis did much better in the first fight when he stood and boxed at ring-centre.

When he gave the momentum to Napoles and tried to pull him around the ring, he got reamed.

Unless I'm getting confused with the Clyde Gray fight?

It's been a while since I sat down and span all those dusty title fights together.

Gray did quite well with a mixture of stiff obviously pre-determined gameplan movement(constantly to his right hand side if i remember rightly) and box-fighting, i think that was one of the first fights where you could see Napoles had lost a step or two.

Napoles got worked over a bit in the last round, as Gray knew he needed a KO due to the open scoring and surprisingly did really well when he just let his hands go to get it.The mighty Napoles chin held up though.

If Buchanan fights to win...Napoles stops him. If Ken elects to survive after fielding Napoles' firepower (especially at that weight) he loses a lopsided decision. Napoles may have been the greatest H2H at the weight IMO.

Interested in Napoles-what key bouts did he display his jab in?
