Over 15 at the weights specified, both prime

    Kid Gavalin (147)
    Donald Curry (147)
    Charley Burley (147)

    Manny Pacquiao (140)
    Barney Ross (140)
    Aaron Pryor (140)

    Pernell Whitaker (135)
    Ike Williams (135)
    Roberto Duran (135)

    How does Mantequilla do?

Losses to Burley, Pac, Ross, and Duran

50/50 Pryor (I think Pryor offers stylistic issues) and Whitaker

    Beats Williams, Gavilan and Curry

Hard to say since there’s no Burley footage at 147 or Napoles footage at 135.

Maybe Gavilan edges him based on concrete chin and edge in speed. I’d probably favor him over the rest.

Really? I thought Ross and Pac were two of the easier match ups

Ross outclasses him, Pac outworks him

Do note I find Napoles massively overrated

No-one outclasses Napoles. Ever. Regardless of how overrated you find him.

Is it that simple to beat Napoles? I think it takes a few more dimensions to your game to beat Napoles, I don't think Pac has them. Imo Pac gets countered silly while trying to pressure José. He would win rounds with that speed and workrate but imo would be figured out and then soundly beaten.

He would only clearly (not widely) lose to Gavilan and Duran IMO. Ike has the most chance of cracking his chin, but I'm not sure he'd do it.

He outclasses the others in some brilliant brawls and boxing displays.

Yeah, I think Napoles is horrible stylewise for Ross. He is just to rooted and workmanlike to win this. Napoles baiting movement would just flummox him IMO, like Canzoneri bouts x10. He is the greater fighter though, definitely.

Ross would only give him trouble on account of his toughness and will. Not boxing wise. Canzoneri would be much harder stylewise IMO.

Really? Napoles may be a top 10 H2H fighter ever. He's got a good argument for top 5 Welter too. And I can't see him being out of the top 10.

If anything he's undermentioned on this site.

I think Jose would pressure Pac as well, and take advantage of his mistakes in a firefight. Then he'd probably begin holding center ring and breaking him down. Absolute ATG firefight.

Napoles is one of the best ever at mixing offense and defense (next to Duran IMO). He also had scythe like power.

Alright I got jumped immediately for saying that so I'll just follow it up with this forum also overrates the hell out of random fighters like Freddie Steele, Vasyl Lomachenko, Joey Giardello, Jung Koo Chang and Kid Gavilan. People treat them like these unheralded gods of fistic combat on here whenever they're in a hypothetical

You guys also have the gall to make men like Bernard Hopkins and Rocky Graziano lose every hypothetical, the former is an undisputable atg and monster at MW (who would beat your beloved Freddie Steele), and the latter gets compared as a blown up fringe contender in every thread.

I've seen Jose Napoles on footage, he's smooth, really smooth. He has nigh perfect ring general ship. He's like a slick Harold Johnson or Joey Giardello, but guess what, both of those men lacked intangibles which makes me not favor them over over top 30 p4p nigh undefeatable monsters like Ross, and Duran. Hell, Napoles wasn't even that big at 147. And he cut bad. Pacquiao would throw a million punches and systematically break him down to a UD, you're out of your mind if you think Napoles could stand toe to toe with the harder punching and higher workrate Pacman. Ross has his fundamentals proven against vastly superior competition

Now that I've dug my grave deeper I shall say adieu
