Yeah. Firpo was conceived by two Italian born immigrants.

But his first language was Spanish.

Hispanic definition: The definition of Hispanic is relating to Spanish-speaking culture or people. "
So many vague definitions it's not worth an argument ,suffice to say Ruiz Jnr is far from the first Hispanic to fight for the title.

What language one first speaks cannot change their ethnicity. Firpo was an ethnic Italian. It is unlikely Spanish was Firpo’s first language anyway.

Jews don’t become Chinese if their first language is Chinese.

    Being Jewish is a religion,not a nationality,Chinese is a nationality.
You don't even know the definition of Native American! Why would any sane person take any notice of you?

I've given you three dictionary definitions, both English and American of the term Hispanic.
I really couldn't give a **** if you accept them or not.
You're boring the **** out of me with your mindless pedantry .I'm off down the backyard to pick some mint to make a couple of Mojitos.
    Send someone else to sleep!

Have you looked into the Spanish and Italian translation for Tonto?

    I accept the translation.

If I move to South Africa and start speaking Bantu it doesnt make Zulu. Im also not sure that Spanish was his first or primary language. I know Bonavena spoke Italian at home which, if it was the same case for Firpo, which it likely was, it would make Italian his first language. But I agree Ruiz isnt the first and frankly its ridiculous calling him the first Mexican champion. He was born and raised in the United States and hes a champion of the USA not Mexico. Mexico has less a claim to him than Britain does to Bob Fitzsimmons and their claim to him is pretty damn weak.

Not necessarily. You’ve got large parts of the population in countries like Singapore and Malaysia who speak Chinese as a first language and consider themselves of Chinese ethnicity but their nationality is still Singaporean or Malaysian not Chinese.

Have you looked into the Lithuanian translation of Choklab?

Choklab = Most astute, and perspicacious, one of sound judgement, and acute sensitivity.
One always in the right place at the right time.
Choklabbers= "You're where you should be all the time, and when you're not, you're with, some underworld spy,or the
wife of a close friend, wife of a close friend."

"You had one eye on the mirror, and you watched yourself gavotte, and all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner, they'd be your partner " -----

Puerto Ricans consider themselves Puerto Ricans, that does not alter the fact that they are also Hispanic!

It's not an argument I consider worth having and ,from the looks of it neither do you..I agree about Fitz who became an American citizen
as soon as he decently could.
The UK had to go so long before they had someone who picked up the "holy grail of sports ,"the heavyweight title, they clung onto old Bob.once Bruno won a version of the crown,, and then the more accomplished Lewis came along, they became more relaxed about the whole thing and preceded to let their grip on Fitz lessen a bit.
ps I wonder what language Oscar and Mrs Conforte spoke in?The language of love?

I don’t dispute that .I was just pointing out in the case of being Chinese, it can be used to describe either ethnicity or nationality but it is possibe to be one but not the other.
