I had just begin to learn more of Jose Torres several years ago after I saw an interview he gave in a documentary. Nice boxing career ,but seemed to be a far nicer human from the interview. A Puerto Rican legend & ex heavyweight champ. RIP

I was watching on TV when Torres wrecked Willie Pastrano's liver for the Lightheavy Title back in the early 60's.

Many observers thought Torres should have won the rematch against Tiger (Jose lost by SD).

The biggest loser here is boxing itself. Torres gave a great deal to boxing both in and out of the ring, and he was a gentleman as well....RIP.
