###Joseph Agbeko-Abner Mares II / Vic Darchinyan-Anselmo Moreno Build-Up Thread###

December 3rd has become even better. We already have one rematch made to settle the extremely controversial score in Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito, and now we have another, in a return between Joseph Agbeko-Abner Mares, mandated by the IBF. Added to that, we have Jpab dream-catcher Vic Darchinyan taking on the much -maligned(by me) Anselmo Moreno.

The first fight was very much controversy-filled thanks to one Russell Mora, who in one of the worst displays of refereeing in recent memory, awarded Mares with two bogus knockdown calls, one a slip in the first, the other a blatant low-blow in the eleventh and ignored countless other shots way south of the waistline border. In between Mares' rushes of aggression and low blows Agbeko displayed the greater skills and outboxed his younger foe for the most part, not enough to overcome the officiating though, as Abner emerged with a MD win.

It was an unfortunate turn of events for the Ghanain, who, after the sport regularly screwing him over, made his own luck by scoring defining victories against the likes of Darchinyan and in particular Yonnhy Perez, wherein he displayed his full, diverse range of skills against a buzzsaw of a man who had already defeated him. All for nothing in the end as he was robbed of his chance to be rightful champion of Showtime's bantamweight tourney. He'll be hoping to rectify what had been put wrong, and once again outbox Mares with his skills that have established him as one of the most versatile in the sport, hopefully without events conspiring against him on this occasion.

Mares will be hoping to continue on with his, up to this stage, fruitful run that includes a draw against Perez and 'wins' against Darchinyan and Agbeko. An abundance of will, and guts, he is somewhat limited, which is what hampered him in his initial bout with King Kong. Some adaptability is needed for him this time around, as he can't hope to have the benefit of inept officials on his side once again.

One of the better matches that can be made in the strongest division in the game, this all-southpaw battle has a large degree of intrigue with it, bringing a vastly different mesh of styles, age, and opposition. Darchinyan's savvy and massive power facing off with Moreno's youth and quickness makes picking a winner and sticking to it a difficult task.

People - harshly - questioned how much Darchinyan had left to offer and after his narrow and debateable split decision defeat to Mares, which followed dominant performances from the Aussie-Armenian against the likes of Tomas Rojas and Rodrigo Guerrero. Vic soon squashed that myth, looking almost like the man who had splattered Cristian Mijares|) three years earlier against Perez in April, severely damaging the shopworn-looking Columbian in almost every round with his trademark venomous left hands over the top before a clash of heads ended matters early, allowing Darchinyan to pick up a dominant technical decision win after 5. A keep busy bout against Evans Mbamba in Armenia(his first in his homeland) under his belt, he's ready to de-rail some more hyped express'.

If you've ever heard someone say this:

Ram screwdrivers through their eyes if you ever encounter them. Anselmo is labelled as underrated - he's not. A basic and limited boxer, the only reason he has a more than decent chance against Vic is that he doesn't favour Darchinyan stylistically. Tall and lanky, he likes to utilise his one-two before staying out of range. I won't delve deeper, there's really not that much to him.

:good Yeah mate, hopefully we can make this as good as the last build up thread, and with another quality addition to it we won't be talking about the same topics all over again, plenty to discuss over the coming months in relation to Vic-Moreno.

Great news, not only is Darchinyan-Moreno a very good fight, it's a fight that has infuriated the man who is the biggest skidmark on this sport, Eric Morel.

Apparently the gang-raper thought he was going to be fighting Moreno in November only to hear of the annoucement of the Darchinyan fight while he was waiting to be contacted. What I love about this is, his father claims that you can now add Anselmo to Fernando Montiel, Jorge Arce and Nonito Donaire as fighters that have ''ducked'' Morel. Yes, I'm sure his robbery of Gerry Penalosa left them quivering, which is why they fought better fighters than your ***** of a son.

The only reason I would've enjoyed to see one of those fights is because of the potential retirement-causing beating Cyril's son would've suffered as a consequence.
