As the poster below you pointed out, Donaire was saying that he literally wanted to kill Darchinyan in the ring. Vic's trash talk was mild in comparison.

Yet has anyone ever tried to paint Donaire as some sort of comic book villian like they do to Vic? Nope.

Some people don't like trash talk at all. That's ok. But by that standard they would have to be hating on Donaire as much as Darchinyan. But they don't.

I think the problem stems from a few things. Mostly it is to do with he is a fighter without a large nationalistic fanbase. He is mostly fighting against fighters with huge and vocal nationalistic fanbases. So we hear over and over and over what an ******* he is... not because of him being an ******* but because of the fans of his opponents being kinda rabid.
That's why Donaire can get away with doing the same or worse then Darchinyan, but Donaire fans will still say that Vic is the villian.

Then when they repeat this chant over and over again it starts to sound like common knowledge. "I keep hearing what a jerk this Darchinyan guy is. It must be true. People keep posting this stuff all over the internet."

It's a shame, cause one of the gutsiest fighters on the planet gets all this hate - gets labelled as an ******* when he is actually a great person.

 

What Donaire said was pretty classless but he also does not have a history of saying **** like that and he is probably not as well versed as Vic in the trash talking category so people might be more forgiving of him. However should he repeat such things then you do have a point.

In terms of trashtalking is Vic worse than guys like Floyd... probably not. But his limited command of the english language probably makes it to be like that.

Anyway, win lose or draw Darchinyan offers us fights we can all enjoy and that is something to be happy about :good Hope you enjoy the fight later this week!

 

Vic plays the villian role well & in the end it puts more $$$$ in his pocket if he can talk it up & fight the way he does. He's a fight fans dream, always comes to fight. Go Vic!

Fire up boys! All I know that I am counting the seconds to this one and I cannot understand why this clash is not getting the attention it deserves outside the hard core boxing community! I have no doubt it will be FOTY stuff yet it will probably be watched by about 800 in an empty stadium with Showtime ratings registering barely a blimp and that pisses me off!

Nonito's fans can say all they want but Vic is about to fight again against Agbeko for a title at Bantam while Doniare is fighting some dude that has 13 wins and 3 loses for a world title.

You may hate VIc but i know for fact he is fighting way better oppisition and fighting at least 3 times a year compared to Nonito fighting once a year.
