There was nothing racist or nationalistic about last night's refereeing or judging. It's about $$$$$. That is it. Mares is a GBP fighter, a guy they're trying to make into a star - the same way they're trying to make Ortiz into a star. The ref and judges, if they want to keep getting those GBP paydays, learn to 'look the other way' at fouls, or score accordingly. It's about making Oscar happy - not about the color of a fighter's skin.

The average white's opinion on jack Johnson's conviction of violating the Mann act was that it had nothing to do with race, but that he was simply a criminal who had violated the law.
LOL, 110 years later, nothing really has changed. Backhanded deceitful ways of winning are still desperately needed.

One guy had the right connections, one didn't. Black fighters who have them (Devon Alexander) get the calls that other black fighters, domestic or African, who generally don't have that support, won't get. It's unfair that marketability makes things even harder for the "unknown" fighters because the cards are stacked against them, but it's a systemic problem in boxing and not unique to African and black boxers. It is a problem they face, though, along with any other boxer who isn't deemed "marketable" enough.

What he said had more to do with xenophobia than racism, since he never said it had anything to do with him being black, but his his nation of origin.

As has been said above, Agbeko never said anything about race, he said his nationality. African, South Americans and to a lesser extent Eastern Europeans are often on the receiving end of poor decisions to American or European fighters of all colours.

This goes beyond home cooking, even internationally- the money maker will get the decision.

The ref might have got paid to favor mares But I highly doubt he would favor him due to being a fellow mexican!:lol: You dont get to that level by being partial to certain fighters.. Agbeko is a dumb *****!

Mora was warning Agbeko and letting Mares hit him on the balls. If that's not racism i don't know what is. Why go hard on one fighter and allow the other one to hit the african fighters balls all night? It's either Mora hates blacks or favors a certain race. When he called the intentional Low Blow in the 10th a KD. I thought WOW mofo is RACIST!!

he's not all the way wrong. African fighters are apparently the least marketable fighters in America's eyes. therefore, if 2 fighters of equal record fight and the African boxer clearly beats the other fighter, unless he stops him or dominates him, then the other fighter will receive the benefit of a doubt. see clotty vs cotto. the racial prejudice in boxing goes like this:
    1. white (includes euro-bums)
    2. mexican
    3. african-american
    4. puerto ricans
    5. south-american fighters
    5. cubans
    6. africans
denying the obvious is the residue of your own stupidity.

This had nothing to do with the scoring. This was about Agbeko being hit low, and warned for b.s by the ref who may have been told by someone from GBP's to not take any points from either guy. They say Agbeko was rabbit punching. Who the **** started that **** early in the fight? Mares.
