Chisora is one of the few boxers who does not need to worry about his boxing coach. He is never going to change his skill level or able to change tactics wise. He just needs someone with experiences in his corner on fight night and a good S&C coach.

Was a decent fight, Parker really impressed me. There's still a couple if fights left for Chisora then maybe he will hang his gloves up. I've always been a big fan and supporter of Chisora, he gets a lot of hate on this forum but it is what it is.

Parker looked as sharp as I've seen him and also letting his hands go once again...... definitely making improvements under Andy Lee. He couldn't miss with the uppercut.

Chisora is a ****ing warrior. Pure entertainment and always comes to fight. One tough *******.

'Legend Derek Chisora has nothing left to prove - he should walk away'

The word 'legend' has become so *******ised that it has taken on an entirely different meaning these days.

If Chisora fights on he should not fight anyone again above the level of Mariusz Wach. If he does it will badly effect his health, as he will take a pasting.

Imagine if Danny Williams were around now, as a 30 year old, and was a thug. He'd be a PPV star.

Chisora now being a headliner just shows the huge decrease in quality of Matchroom cards. He was an undercard fighter - Whyte, Kabayel, Takam etc plus a few 6 and 8 rounders. He was originally supposed to fight Parker on an undercard and now it’s been a main event twice despite neither impressing since the first fight fell through.

    Exactly.
Chisora is no better than Williams.
    Whyte is practically Matt Skelton.
Look how they've been elevated to ridiculous hyped levels.

Think a lot of the British heavyweights have benefitted from what Joshua brought to the division.Would chisora and whyte be in the position they are in now headlining ppv's if Joshua never came on the scene? Doubt it. Even guys like Allen and price have probably earned good money just being around at the right time.

Both made around £80m in loot between them yet only Chisora had a single World Title Fight nearly 10 years ago.

Only a World Class Salesman can earn a journeyman these sums of money.

You are right. I would say, though...

A world class salesman is not enough. A world class salesman with endless resources and temporal fortune regarding the advent of modern social networking sites and Sky propaganda (an empire which was built entirely independent of Hearn) reaching its peak, however, was enough.

Although Hearn is a good salesman, he's a lot like Britney Spears. Like Spears, Hearn is the star of the show, but they are only delivering a product. It's probably unfair to refer to Hearn as only a salesman, so in estate agency terms, you'd probably put him down as more of an area sales manager.

Put simply, only a world class sales machine can earn a journeyman this sort of money.

It really shows how timing is so crucial. Danny Williams is still boxing today. I remember he spoke about paying for his children's private education. If he was in his early to mid-thirties today he'd be loaded. He'd just need a manager to tell him to speak like a thug, and maybe beat up a girlfriend (not advisable, obviously) and he'd become a loveable crowd favourite.

Chisora is a scumbag. Anyone who likes the guy's personality must be a tosser.

Earn and Sky spun Chisora's personality and had no issues at all with him beating up women.

Shocking when you consider they sacked a good commentator, Glenn McCrory for drink driving and assaulting a man.

If that was Chisora, he would be allowed to continue after being sent on a course to deal with alcoholism and anger management.

    Definitely.

I really liked McCrory on the commentary. Sky was better back when they openly criticised British boxers and it wasn't just one big sales pitch. I remember Lennox Lewis being criticised for being boring countless times. Gary Mason, he was good too. Much better than the likes of Nelson who is completely insufferable.

When Chisora does something scummy it's seen as funny, epic, legendary, war and all of that. I can't think of any redeeming qualities.

    Bunce's article is awful.

Chisora deserves a certain degree of respect for his efforts in the ring, and will always be remembered as a tough professional. But to pen an entire article that shamelessly attempts to elevate him to "legend" or "hero" status is quite sickening.

To call Chisora a "throwback" is wrong. Old school fighters of Chisora's ability level would be fighting regularly for low money in small halls or on the road constantly or earning as sparring partners in the meantime, not fighting once or twice a year and demanding PPV money to lose.

Then after claiming that he wants Chisora to retire, Bunce ends the article by floating the idea that Chisora should perhaps be afforded another shot at a world title.
