Parker has had a bit of BJS syndrome since moving up in class. Winning every important fight close but clear, carrying the likes of Cojanu 12... That's not a good affliction to suffer from at HW, eventually it will see you getting KO'd... Unless your skills are truly sublime. Parker certainly has natural power - but for whatever reason he doesn't sit down on his punches anymore. I think he needs to ditch Barry and hook up with Sanchez.

Probably doesn't have to worry about getting kayoed by Hughie. :sisi1

(though you never know, Ottke vs. Mundine happened...)

...but yes, point taken. I think in light of his recent performances a lot of the buzz that was building a couple of years ago for an epic young guns showdown between him and Joshua has lost its luster and that just doesn't feel nearly as competitive anymore. You'd have to expect AJ to be heavily favored to blast him out at this point.

The fact that Parker has been dealing with shoulder and elbow issues for 18+months won't help that.... apparently those have subsided with the recent drop in activity however the vibrations I am hearing in the ether suggest that there could still be other reasons for concern, though I honestly have no idea how much stock to put in that

I wonder if those explain his drop in 'explosiveness' lately..

All this miscellaneous dolor makes you wonder if we're getting robbed of seeing "two young talented heavyweights in their prime, at full health".

As in, no matter the excitement level or final outcome, should we always be left wondering about what could've been had both come in at 100% and turned in better performances?

I have not heard any noises to suggest Parker isn't at full health, it actually sounds like he may be at the best health he has been in for 2 years in that regard. The question marks are more around the camp itself.

Yes - the unwanted break has actually allowed Parker to heal of those injuries.

Every cloud has a silver lining

I'm sure his camp say he is over elbow and shoulder complaints each camp. They have then rolled it out as a factor in his last two less than stellar performances.

Yeah but I don't get your actual post?!

Hmmm the way I remember they either mentioned them before the fight, albeit maybe not making a big deal about it - or not mentioned it at all... I could have missed something but that's definitely the way I remember it, as I'd been looking around and trying to find out as it's been a concern for me. I certainly don't recally them coming out like this and saying it's all fine now.

Either way, here's hoping he's in good nick.
