Questionable stoppage.

I mean it looked inevitable from that point, so the ref has most likely saved him from punishment, but Takam had the chance taken off him to turn it around.

If Takam was hitting Joyce like that it wouldn't have been stopped.

 

well, my assessment is that aj gets him out of there in less than 7. he is just too easy to hit with your feet planted. this guy was 40 frickin years old.

 

Takam was the better fighter overall, until the last round. I think takam was ready to continue, he's a tough nut to crack. This stoppage was premature, just as the stoppage against Joshua.

Takam can take beatings and recover. Anyways, I'm not impressed by Joyce. Aged 35, I doubt he will reach something meaningful in boxing, but I can well see him in another one or two interesting fights.

The Takam who fought Povetkin and Parker would have gotten the job done, as it stands he was still able to hang for a while and win 2-3 rounds.

 

This is why Joe is a problem for HWs. Yes, you can hit him, Yes, you can keep finding him with the same shot. Yes, he's slower than a glacier. But after five rounds, when you've hit him hard and plenty and you've barely moved the stubble on his chin and he's still relentlessly coming forward as you gas, and your pace has dropped to his, what then? Nothing's changing, he's not gonna stop coming at you and there's more than half the fight to go. Physically and mentally that's a challenge for anyone...

Joyce won but your scores are insane. No way did Joyce win all 5 rounds before the stoppage. Everybody here had Takam winning at least 2 rounds

 

AJ got hit a lot by Takam too.

 

Thought it was even or a round either way. But in any event the scorecard is irrelevant. Joyce grinds his opponents down. He couldn’t give a **** what the scorecards were, he was always stopping Takam.
