One of the worst scorecards in a while. Astonishing.

I wasn't that impressed by Usyks performance against Chisora.

Not in a bad way, I mean he's a super clever fighter but Delboy did have quite a bit of success and he was buggered after 7-8 rounds.

I think Usyk looked to have slowed down quite a bit at HW.

Joyce will have a decent reach advantage also. Its definitely a lot closer I think now compared to there amateur fights.

If Joshua was going to quit he would have done it 3 or 4 rounds earlier!

The fight was over in the 3rd after Joshua jumped on Ruiz and got caught himself, most other fighters wouldn’t have got up let alone tried to continue for a further 4 rounds and 3 more knock downs.
Take off the blinkers and judge it with some objectivity

I honestly think the footwork was the difference, Bryant Jennings was able to punish Joyce for being slow but Dubois's legs were just so stiff

In my opinion, such a list of skulls qualifes one as world-class, though.

First of all, wtf did it take from Ruiz´s win? The whole world saw him stop Joshua. Nobody cared about the stoppage itself.
So what exactly did Ruiz loose?

A lot of people talked about Joshua´s mouthpiece. Well that thing was barely in his mouth during the introductions.

In the 7th, Joshua gets knocked down, goes to the corner and leans his hands on the ropes.
The ref is counting in his face. Instructs him to pick up his hands and to put his mouthpiece back in.
Then he instructs him to "come off the ropes" and leads him out of the corner. AJ completely obliges.

Joshua gets knocked down again, this time his mouthpiece falls out. The ref counts, Joshua gets up and walks to his corner. The ref yells him to turn around but Joshua barely responds. He looks completely confused.
When the ref asks if he is ready to box, Joshua responds with a nod. The ref then gives no further instruction and just waits a second before stopping the fight.

I believe Joshua was waiting for the referee´s instruction. He was definitely milking the moment and it bit him in the ass.

have a look at the threads. Most people predicted Joshua to lose all them fights. Not me. Others on this board. Including yourself.

Can you blame them after all of the build up where Warren was 100% on the side of DDD.

It was like he had no faith at all in Joyce.

Dubois best friend right now is time. He is 22/23 and in 5 years time when Fury, AJ, Wilder and Usyk have cleared off, he'll only be 27/28 and still a couple of years away from his prime.

A blessing in disguise the loss, as he will in a couple of years later see it.

Congratulations to Joe Joyce. A massive life changing 2021 awaits him. I had Joyce btw in the other thread!

Just seen on IG. Tbf What Dave said isn’t too unreasonable but I think we should see what comes out in the wash. That eye injury was bad and if Dubois was concerned about its state then fair enough.

Humble Pie all round with the outcome but he should never have been left to quit - the ref and doctor should have stopped this fight well before he took the knee.

Look at Kell Brook's injuries and DDD made the right decision for his career.

Tony Dosh PPV quit in New York with no damage except a broken heart.

It's just the jibe that he suggested that Dubois quit for a different reason like he has a lack of heart

Surprised and a little disappointed at that, the eye was very bad but we have all seen worse the way he quit late on in such a close fight was a bit of shock.

For all he knew he was up on points going in to the 10th? Something must have happened in the 10th when that jab landed directly in his right eye, because he suddenly went down right after that and had no intention of getting up, so presumably he had some nerve damage and the pain was just too bad for him to fight on? Only he will know how he felt we shouldn't be too harsh on him. There were one or two danger signs in the corner earlier on too especially around the 5th round, before the eye was as bad so that's something to think about.

I picked him to win and thought he would knock Joe out, obviously that never looked like happening.

He's still only 23 and so will have plenty of other opportunities. The eye will recover but I agree with what has been alluded to, I think Daniel being young and a bit naïve does not realise what this will do to his reputation. It will be thrown back at him by opponents every chance they get, some (not all) fans will hold it against him and it will make things harder for him going forward for sure.
