Joyce is just a gate-keeper at this point.

 

Joyce has never really recovered from the huge Zhang losses. Took more than a defeat that first night. Knocked his confidence and momentum. I guess he was always going to get found out with his lack of head movement and main method of defence was relying on his chin.

 

Is Hrgovic vs Joyce worth watching ? I actually forgot this fight was taking place TBH.

 

100% yes. Was a slow moving but non-stop slugfest. And the first undercard fight (might be the second, can’t remember) is worth watching too, dudes beat other into bloody messes.

Noel I scored it a shut out Carl Frampton was embarrassing honestly with his scorecard and so was the commentators they thought it was a close fight ? You must be having a laugh.

Hrgovic boxed his head off and landed all the clean effective punches all Joyce did was plod forward and land nothing of note.

Chris it really is Hrgovic boxed his head off and landed all the clean effective punches in the fight.

All Joyce did was plod forward and eat punches all night long. If anything 8-2 is generous for Joyce I scored it a shut out I couldn't find a single round for Joyce.

Punchstats also had Hrgovic out landing Joyce in all 10 rounds by a wide margin especially in power punches.

Thanks for your reply,watching it live i had it all square after 8 rounds.Hrgovic definitely won the final 2 rounds giving him a victory of 96 - 94 on my card.May have to look at it again

 

He really didn't though what rounds did Joyce clearly win ? He did nothing but plod forward all night and repeatedly take flush punches.

The only fighter who was landing pretty much every clean effective punch was Hrgovic hence the very one sided stats in which Hrgovic outlanded Joyce 2 to 1 in every round in regards to power punches.

Joyce landed in single digits for power punches in 9 of the 10 rounds where as Hrgovic was consistently landing 20+ power punches a round.

There was not a single round Joyce won clearly in the entire fight not a close fight at all in actual fact fairly one sided.

 

I think compubox is very cool stat but not sure I completely trust it.

I had Hrgovic winning pretty clearly though nevertheless.
