Adam Smith is annoying now we've got him back again rumours of gambling problems are apparently why Sky got shot of him.
He didn't leave of his own accord he was pushed so I'm told.

    He did

The gambling thing did the rounds but would DAZN hire somebody that could be that kind of liability?
    I doubt it

Why would Sky boot him off for a gambling addiction? They haven’t for Merson.

Unless he was gambling using company cash (which seems unlikely), or he was gambling on company time, I don’t really see the issue. Maybe there’s a thought somebody couldn’t objectively commentate on a sports event they’ve had a flutter on, but just seems like something they’d support through rehab for someone who has been there 20+ years rather than bin him off.

Employers have a legal duty of care to their staff. Sky would be asking a gambling addict to work in an environment full of gambling ads, mentions of betting partners etc.

A bigger issue may be the wish of those betting partners to ensure that they are kept a million miles away from the idea that their product could potentially damage someone,
