During recent years when heavyweights have been avoiding each other, Joseph Parker has fought most of the contenders. His resume is impressive. This content is protected
I love Parker. He’s genuine, decent and always gives an account of himself. This success couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.
I'm glad to be back on the Parker bandwagon, though I lost faith in him around the first Chisora fight. But he's pulled himself up by the bootstraps and is now approaching something like the fighter I always hoped he could be. It's a shame he's now physically past his prime. Couple this new improved Parker with the crazy explosive punching monster of his early-mid twenties and you'd have one of the best HWs on the planet right now.
Parker is doing fantastic and should be the one getting title opportunities. Beat two fighters no one gave him a cat in hells chance against.
Parker a great guy - all respect, integrity, very dedicated, didn't duck nobody, fast combination puncher, iron chin. His resume is solid. Only thing he doesn't have going for him is power. Decent power, but you'd expect more from a big Samoan unit. I'm currently rocking a goatee because of the Parker hype lol
Definitely has to be regarded as one of the best fighters of this era. His teaming up with Andy Lee has proven to be very beneficial from him and he's know showing a level of ring IQ, focus and execution in his performances which wasn't there before. I think he used to rely on his natural athleticism but now he's older and more experienced he's doing what veteran fighters do and use all that experience to raise his level. I think he used to just throw punches without much thought to what he was doing, was just looking to land punches, but now a lot of what he does has a real purpose. He switches level going to head and body to keep his opponents guessing and create openings. He feints and watches his opponents reactions and sets traps accordingly based on what he sees. Make no mistake Parker right now is the best version we have ever seen.
He's a good heavyweight Parker but I've got to be honest he bores the s*** out of me.. he doesn't have great power and his style is somewhat underwhelming..
I can't remember the poster or the other fight for certain but after AJ/Parker, sometime, it may've been IB or McGrain who said it was a better skilled two-way match than...Ortiz/Wilder? Or maybe Fury/Wilder? And I think I agreed decisively on that and thought there was a lot of fooling about the level of the winner of fight B, compared to how much professional craft was in fight A from both fighters. There was a time, and I was wrong, that I thought the real standout likely rivals and the goods of the division were going to wind up being AJ/Parker, but I think even I went from overrating Parker's potential to underrating what he was. He's just one of those guys who gets it through lack of harsher weaknesses more than highlight strengths. I appreciate him though. He's a point of light in this era of heavyweights, overall.
