He’s only 33 in an era of guys still at the top of the totem pole at 38-40etc…he’s fought a real mixed bag old school sort of line up, just picking a fight with every style, every shape and tier of fighter… Reminds me a bit of a modern Jerry Quarry? Tier down from the “best” so far… He’s just fought everybody and excels against punchers… when the dust settles he could be champ but that’s a chat to have in general… what do you think gents does he reflect the old guards career trajectory? Could someone figure out how many ranked guys beat, could be infesting data…? have we ever had someone with a chin like this either? Zhang, Wilder, Ruiz, Bakole, Whyte and Chisora can crack and are averaging (besides Wilder) 240lbs-270lbs etc… honestly I’ve always sold him short, wanted him to go lose and get out of the way of “better” fights to be had, liked him only as a B side, now through persistence he’s the guy I want to inherit the throne after Usyk by whatever means, whether he wins by beating Ol Usyk or fights it out in a tourney I’ll be happy, deserves it really, at least one more shot.

    Dillian Whyte
    Andy Ruiz Jr
    Hughie Fury
    Martin Bakole
    AJ
    Derek Chisora x2
    Simon Kean
    Deontay Wilder
    Zhilei Zhang
    Carlos Takam
    Jack Massey

Heavyweight division always has these guys. They win a few here and there but usually are the types that are not the guy getting his hand raised when they fight the division's best. And hanging tough does not translate to wins.

They are an importatn piece of boxing and will remain so.

Parker has really grown on me. A perhaps more than worthy successor to Tua.

Yes his resume is very impressive.

If he can be the best in the world for a year or two, he will go from being a very good contender type to possibly an all time 30-40 type. But that is a big IF.

It’s definitely possible he beats Dubois or Usyk? Not that he’d be the favourite over Usyk but I wouldn’t count him out.

But his fight against Takam was a robbery for to be honest... it's a very close fight even against Ruiz...

I personally think it is a case of him being a large man himself and of his boxing skills improving over time. He's fighting more intelligently than before and he seems more solid physically than before. I don't think his chin is some incredible chin. I think he has a good chin, but he is also guarding it better.

He reminds me a lot of Bombardier Billy Wells, who I watched die.

Yeah, assuming it continues, I think the new Saudi regime in heavyweight boxing is going to phase out the argument you sometimes see for the old time fighters that moderns have no ring experience with other contenders. Parker is an example of a very large guy with lots of experience who also benefits from the superior modern training methods.
