Parker is never gonna go on the world stage again anyway. He can continue to fight the Junior Fa's and the Alex Leapai's of the world in the comfort of his backyard.
I like Ben but he comes across as a bit of an outboxing focused trainer. Parker needs to learn the dark arts in boxing not the jab which he always falls short with. He also needs to learn to dig in and rely on that iron chin...hard to train that mentality though. As a man with a young family this guy should just get his final paydays and retire. The Whyte fight is the perfect fight that Parker should focus on...he can beat Whyte...why did he lose to Whyte? Answer that question and fix the problems and he will improve. Fixing his stamina issues is also very hard to do. When Whyte can set a pace on you then you've got problems...because Whyte gases hard also.
Could be a good move. Barry had been going through the motions for years. Davison despite his age seems to be pretty knowledgeable, since even in the first Wilder fight he gave Fury all of the correct instructions even though Fury often ignored the instructions to his detriment, since Fury ignoring Davison’s instructions resulted in Fury getting a draw instead of winning. Davison obviously doesn’t have anywhere near Barry’s extensive experience as a trainer, but considering Davison’s youth I think he’ll be more motivated and have the patience to fix a lot of Parker’s flaws that Barry most likely no longer had the patience to deal with.
Funnily enough he did cross my mind when thinking about this. Certainly not the choice I would have but I guess we'll find out.
Didn't pick Breland then. I suppose Parker's wise enough not have a towel throwing traitor, who was thrown out of the bomb squad for that treacherous act!
At this point his skills and heart is what it will be. One thing I’ve observed about Ben is his fighters is always in tiptop shape for their fights. Parker for one needs to be in better shape during his so this union could be beneficial for him.
