Would you honestly pick takam over joshua? I'd like to see how parker handles whyte and martin. I dont see Martin pulling a quit job against Parker.

 

I dont. I'm not that impressed by Parker's offensive skill set or power. I think he gets away with things due to his athleticism and chin. I think Takam's style is tailor made for Joshua. I don't see Takam making it past 9.

 

Fortunately doesn't matter if you're impressed, if you aren't impressed with anyone that isn't a legit champion then you're not really interested in the sport of boxing so much as hating on 99.99% of those competing in it and nut hugging the names of the moment.

Reality is Parker clearly is good enough and we'll rounded enough to be a top ten heavyweight. That is a huge achievement no matter what, especially when he is clearly still on a steep improvement curve at the moment.

It's too early to comment one way or another on Joshua... he needs to fight someone Takams level or at least near it to start getting a gauge, be interesting to see him fight Stiverne (who Parker has occasionally used over the years as a sparring partner I believe) - he's past his best but it would be a big step up

 

Who said I'm not impressed by those who aren't legit champions? I have no clue how you got that from my post . I don't even care about belts, they're just trinkets to me. Parker barely got passed Takam, and looked to have major stamina issues, and was taking way too much punishment against Takam. He throws these burst combinations at times, and has decent reflexes, but he does not set up his offense well.

Meh, HW is really a pretty weak division aside from Fury, Wilder, Wlad, Joshua, and Ortiz. Of course being top 10 in any weight class is a huge accomplishment, but i dont think he deserves half of the hype he gets.

Also the only person who came off as a nuthugger is you. Just because I don't buy into someone's hype, and say I'm not impressed does not mean I'm a "hater". It's called having an opinion. Don't get so butthurt when someone criticizes a boxer you have a crush on.

 

You have to compare parker to the Joshua of 3 years ago for a Better comparison. Its a nog difference between 24 and 27.

While AJ is in a cryostate much like those robot zombies in Universal Soldier, Parker is keeping the game alive with short breaks between fights...

I think parker is on the right track, but needs one more fight against someone who is closer to their prime than haumono before fighting joshua. Maybe fight martin, will be a good way to guage where he is at in comparison to joshua.

How are you not impressed with Parkers offensive skill? He's one of the best combination punchers in the division, fast hands, good power etc. Pointing out his defensive frailties is one thing, but to say he doesn't have good offensive skill or power is just flat out wrong.

 

Martin is too slow and basic... Parker lights him up. Whyte has a punchers chance but Parker probably puts him away without much issue.

His power is not impressive at all, he has fast hands and can flurry, but he doesn't set his punches up well. I've only seen him fight Takam and some other bum. He was fighting in spurts against Takam. He doesn't break his opponents down.

I don't see Parker as anything special. He'll just be a name for the resumes of Wilder, Fury, or Joshua.

 

He has speed, power and chin.

He will give Joshua heart palpitations.
