Blame Fury for his antics which lead him to "vacating" his belts, blaming Parker for taking an opportunity to fight for a vacant belt regardless of the opponent is just idiotic. But this isn't surprising in the slightest coming from you.

Interesting that Parker didn't look close to gassing versus Ruiz, definitely paced himself much better.

Me too. In terms of KO danger he was looking dodge as against Takam, looked safe as houses against Ruiz by comparison - Ruiz looked like he had to dig in slightly at a couple of moments in later rounds against Parker... not saying he was almost dropped, but he looked like he was feeling it.

Interesting you say that, not that this is real concrete - but Boxrec uses a rating system a bit like ELO in Chess to try and score someone's competitiveness in a way that can be compared against other competitors. In theory, if it worked well then that should give a relative indicator against other people scored using the same system. The only guys Tua beat who had better Boxrec ratings at the time he beat them than Takam or Ruiz (who at the time wasn't rated as strongly as he probably deserved!) were Fres Oquendo and Hasim Rahman.

Then rest of Tua's opponents are more or less middling relative to any other high level prospect/contender's resume from memory - just the manner he dispatched them was eye catching. Parker would probably smash through a lot of Tua's resume if the ratings work well.

Its all statistical analysis in the end isnt it and stats dont always tell the full story. Obviously Parker is a better boxer than Tua but Tua did well in his energy sapping style that required; head movement, toughness, patience and basically a style thats a lot harder compared to Parkers come forward game. Obviously Tuas lack of height gives him no choice but to get inside.

I think Parker could beat all of the guys Tua beat. Tua was getting outboxed by a lot of guys he knocked out. Tua had some real power though, from round 1 to round 12. I dont know if Parker couldve knocked out those same guys though but he wouldve been quick even if he went back then. Tua laid out John Ruiz and folded Mike Moorer quickly in the first rounds. Parker doesnt come out like that, maybe he should. Yeah those ratings sound reasonable.

Interesting that Parker finds the shorter thick-set guys harder to KO.

Takam, Williams, Ruiz. Tua was that kind of "tank" also.

Takam- First and only KO against him was by a souped up Povetkin
    Williams- Never been down.
Ruiz- Never been down- also never been down in Amateurs

Those fights will prove their weight in gold as Parker progresses. I'd rate Tank Williams a better scalp for Parker than Kassi or Rudenko, at about the same age Hughie fought (22yrs).

Parker has problems knocking anyone out. The 6ft 7 inch sparring partner, and tubby taco man Ruiz, were walking through his best shots like they were nothing. It will only be a matter of time before the devastating bronze bomber gets his hand on that WBO Belt. Do the right thing Joseph. Give up the title, so Deontay can add it to his priceless collection!

Strange that there has never been a Samoan HW champ considering that they are naturally huge people and seem to compete in professional boxing quite regularly.
