    I wouldn't mind that for a tune-up.

Lol @ camps that keep employing Malik Scott for sparring, not that I'm complaining as he runs (ironic) intel and secrets right to Wilder's camp.

A slow as a slug old man who looked like Brown did is a disgusting mismatch. Tune up? after fighting at the level he just did? The only thing getting tuned up will be The Duco bank account. If Packer is all that, then stop picking on fighters that are levels below him. Fight Whyte if he wants a real fight. Anyone but Brown cos he is toast now

In the last 24 months he has faced Andy Ruiz, Hughie Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Carlos Takam. That's not messing about!

3 of those 4 were undefeated young fighters.

Needs to start making heads hit the canvas again.

Would like to see him get 2 or 3 wins, then a cross-roads fight for decent money.

Has to be in the frame as a potential opponent for Tony Bellew.

Needs to get back on the winner's list before taking that fight though.

And not just with one win. He needs several to build momentum & give himself the best possible chance of winning.

Lucas Browne, Alex Leapai & that Japanese OPBF champ would all be good opponents for him.

If he tries to take a shortcut back to the top, he'll get burned.

    Rebuild slowly, carefully & properly.

The thing is this fight is going to be a good show in Australia or NZ.

when is a complete mismatch ever a good thing?? its a sham of a fight and we all know it. Promoter making money and fighters having an easy fight against a worn out old man is a money grab and nothing more.

So why drop the level down? He didnt get hurt against Joshua and put up a ok performance, so why fight guys he is supposed to be able to beat? Fighting Lucas is a huge step down especially when we saw of him in his last fight. Hopefully that WAS his last fight.

A mixture between business, confidence and possibly testing new things would be acceptable reasons for me. He can't keen on being the exact same, though if you do a stylistic change which may result in a higher limit - sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward two steps... until you settle into the adjustments. You don't want to do those against someone who you need your best foot forward the whole time.

Browne would still draw big audiences from NZ and Oz, and he still sits quite high in the rankings. I have to admit, he's far from my ideal choice - but there is some sense in it too, though I'd have preferred him fight Browne BEFORE Joshua and had been saying it at the time... the position Parker would be in now after a dominant performance over Browne and then a commendable performance against Joshua would be even better, I had a feeling it was only a matter of time before Browne fell from grace and fair play to Whyte to being the one to do it.

Joe doesn't have time against him, no point jumping up too fast and realistically ranking and profile wise Browne is still pretty up there - which would be a helpful stepping stone.

More from an "this would be interesting, and very winnable with a lot of reward" point of view - I like Dominic Breazeale.

What, you think he needs a few tune up fights before fighting Bellew?

Ustinov looks pretty horrible vs Charr and was outboxed, pretty bad sign but as a first fight after fighting AJ it's ok. Should be a comfortable win imo.
