Bruno tries to do more early looks a little better than Joshua but then gasses by the 6th and Parker closes him out around round 10
Bruno was more proven at the top level. He was a little vulnerable to big hitters sometimes, so parker is not without a chance, but i think he would be too slick and would beat him by UD quite comfortably. I actually think that Parker might struggle to compete at the same level of say the Old Joe Bugner that Bruno demolished.
I think Parker beats Bruno. But then I reckoned Parker would beat this guy Joshua but that didn't happen. However, I always said I wouldn't be surprised at an AJ win, yet I would be surprised if Bruno was to beat Parker. That's kind of how I reckon it. I don't think Joshua and Parker are great heavyweights by any means but I think they are still a little better than Bruno was. That seems clear enough. Bruno v Andy Ruiz Jr. would be a fun fight.
I did not see anything on Saturday that would make me favor Parker over Bruno. I agree that Bruno could gas out late. But, if he doesn't, he beats Parker.
I'm not saying that this would be an entertaining fight, but I think it would be a pretty even one. The kind of fight I'd love to see. I know it hasn't been proven, but from the lack of flinch and backstep (I mean that pretty solid shots don't seem to rock him), I think Parker's iron chin may not be a myth. If so, I think he does Bruno. Time will tell. Samoan lads are hard as nails.
Thing about Bruno was that he seemed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. That's why I have a hard time picking Bruno
To me Parker seems unproven. Against Joshua both guys looked tentative. Not saying it wasn't on the up and up but come on, that was pretty poor. Has he done anything besides losing a 12 round decision to Joshua? AJ looks really slow to me, even slower than Frank in my opinion. In this day and age of lackluster fights and moribund action I don't see how people are picking Parker over a proven giant of a heavyweight. Frank Bruno only lost to the best of the best.
To beat Bruno a good fighter had to get past five rounds with him. All jokes aside it was not easy for most to get past 5-7 rounds with Bruno when he was switched on. TBH I don’t see Parker matching Lewis, Witherspoon, Tyson and co. Bruno was a better boxer than Joshua. If you watch the first round of bruno Witherspoon and compare that to the first round of Bruno Witherspoon it gives you more idea.
