Would be a tactical chess match close decision either way. Holmes did like to fight off the ropes later in his career, it depends how willing Parker is to engage Holmes on the ropes. I think Parker would do better making Holmes chase him as Holmes didn't have the legs anymore to bounce around like in his pomp.
Make a H2H sub forum so we don't have a bunch of "This guy vs this guy" threads that no one gives a shtt about.
I applaud Parker for the way he rebounded from his losses but the fact this thread wants to match him up with an ancient Holmes , and that it'd be competitive says all you need to know about Parker.
Old Man Holmes lost to a prime Holyfield by a couple of points and beat Ray Mercer soundly. I think he definitely has the advantage over Parker. Holmes UD.
All a little bit anorak specific, isn't it?. I once knew a train spotter who was like that...he doesn't post on here though.... What age of Joe parker are we looking at then?. Current? Or younger?. Pre or post fight, other fighters he's fought? For simplicity, then. Why not a prime Holmes for starters? We can take it from there for the more definitive subjective opinions. So. Based on a prime Holmes against a current, (or last week + some hours and a few minutes), Parker, I'm picking Holmes for a UD win. More-so if the fight was on a Saturday night, about 10pm UK time. And it's not raining...
