So Zhang decided against rematching Parker, that's probably smart back to back losses is hard to overcome, he can still make good money fighting other top opponents. Have to favour Parker, he's far more proven. I never rated Makmudov or Sanchez so those victories were hardly a huge shock given how unproven they were. But Kabayel is a good solid fighter with no real glaring flaws to exploit. I think this will be a competitive affair, Kabayel unlike Wilder and Zhang can pressure and make you work, he won't give Parker the time and space he saw in his last two fights, this could be a real tough fight for Parker if he can't hurt and get Kabayel's respect. This could be a real close fight.
Kabayel will do to Parker, exactly what he did with Sanchez and Makhmudov. Walk him down, beat him up, and stop him. Are we forgetting that Parker looks good low output against boxers, but terrible against and usually loses to high output pressure fighters? Kabayel might be the best Heavyweight suffocating pressure fighter in the game currently. Time for Parker fans to come crashing back to reality.
Which sounds great in theory but Parker is levels above both Mak and Sanchez. If Kabayel wins it'll be a very close, competitive fight on points. Hopefully Andy Lee comes out with a good game plan, and props to both fighters if they make this happen.
I have to say Kabayel. Parker just outboxed two punchers, so we know he can do that. Can he outbox a boxer? Specifically, a boxer who just outboxed a Cuban and has two consecutive ko's on body shots? I'll have to see it. This is a grat matchup regardless.
Parker has a better resume of course, but this is a stylistic thing. Parker has historically struggled against guys with high volume who put pressure on him and that's exactly the type of strategy Kabayel will try to employ, similar to his last fight. Kabayel also seems to have good durability to boot. Same reason so many people picked Joyce to beat Parker.
Kabayel has a sturdy set of whiskers and his pressure can be suffocating; I don't see a path to victory for Parker.
Style-wise it's Kabayel's fight to lose, unless the flu and weight dragged Parker down this much against Joyce. Still, he likely ain't denting Agit as long as he stays reasonably defensively responsible. Kabayel on the other hand will bring the heat.
I like this fight, both have a lot that can cause the other problems, could turn out to be a classic, I’m going kabayal ud but could go either way
This is true - but Parkers resume isn't just a little bit better than Kabayel's, it's levels beyond. Kabayel's looked impressive against hypejobs Sanchez and Makhmudov but that doesn't guarantee he'll have anywhere near as much success against a far superior boxer. It's easier to look good when the opponent isn't very good... This is the fundamental reason resumes matter. Yes, styles have an impact on the outcomes of fights - but I wouldn't be backing a guy who's so much less proven even if the styles should help him (which broadly is the case here).
Jeepers, if you rate that poor version of Chisora so lowly that a guy who's best wins are Hammer and Ajagba is a better fighter... Well, I can only assume you'd agree that there's levels and levels between these two.
