OMG Dimitrenko was awfull as always, but to be honest, Parker should be DQed. That was a massive foul!
Personally I wish Briggs would pack up his sideshow and **** off. His desperate attempts to garner a final payday really grate on me.
Parker was obviously the superior fighter and by many miles, but that fight should be ruled a NC. Hit him while he was down and the ref just counted him out. Should have been given the 5 minutes.
Pretty one sided win by Parker as expected. Parker looks so much better when he's the aggressor and can lead. When pushed back like in the Takam fight he is far less effective. Shame Dimitrenko couldn't give him a few more rounds but the gulf in class was pretty evident. Dimitrenko had nothing to keep Parker away from him and Parker found it very easy to step inside and get his shots off. As for the finish. Yes he hit him while he was down but the body shots looked pretty innocuous. Dimitrenko was looking for a way out.
Sky have invested money in building up his fight with Joshua. Id be disappointed if he jumped ship over to the WBO.
Aside from the fail which I hope doesn't end up ruining all the work he has done up till now this was a great performance by Parker and definitely a statement. Dimitrenko is no world beater but can definitely make someone look bad if they aren't up to it, and should go some way to showing Parker has the speed and strength to make the supposed "too short, too short a reach" thing less weight that it is made out to be. Dimitrenko is taller with more reach than Joshua and Klitschko and gave Kubrat Pulev way more issues than he gave Parker... which isn't hard as Parker made him look easy when realistically he is better than what a lot of the top 30 guys regularly face. In come the AJ trolls! Get out, pests. This is nothing to do with the thread and also just generally clueless rabble.
Good fight! Parker is no joke, he's got strength, power and some good skills. If Joshua is to win, it won't be easy.. bet on that.
That was clearly the worst Dimitrenko that ever stepped into the ring. I might have to look back to see if he was always this bad because he did not even have command of the most basic of fundamentals. Parker should have blown him away in the first round. He had nothing in front of him. Why was he holding back? If he casually approaches Joshua like that its game over within minutes. His stamina is obviously no better than it was last time against Tackam. AJ will blow him apart.
