I think the majority of the stick Joe gets is from selling these fights at 40 bucks + a pop, I mean when we actually see some really good world title fights fights for free it doesn't add up

Tua gets far more stick than Joe ever got, half the country thought Cameron would beat him ffs! Stuff articles are frequented by many of these tards not to mention some of our pathetic tabloid writers like Rattue!

I think it will be competitive early but Parker will take over at the midway point and stop Ruiz late in the fight.

Yeah, fair - I guess the side effect of having a small market for him making it harder to pay for what they're trying to do with him.

Tua USED to, I agree. I hear WAY more **** about Parker than I do Tua *now*. When Tua deserved the respect he was getting a crapload, I agree but now everyone talk like Tua was beating up the best of the best in every fight whereas the reality is he blew away a crap load of journeymen and less while working his way up.

I was treated like I was a complete moron by almost everyone I knew/worked with and watched Tua versus Cameron with a huge group at a pub in Palmy and was literally the only person there cheering Tua on. As soon as Tua showed up in reasonable shape I was pretty sure it was going to be a short night, I got a lot of free drinks thanks to some good very public wagers haha.

I think a lot of it is the ugly tall poppy syndrome BS you get in NZ, and basically if you aren't doing what the majority of the sheep are into (ie Rugby) and you are successful at it then people feel like you need to be cut down, but even in Rugby people will quickly jump on the bandwagon to cut someone down to size.

I like both Parker and AJ. Both seem to respect the sport and its fans, fighting reasonable to very good opposition relatively often, staying in shape and working out their fights without a lot of drama.

I hope these two + some Rio amateurs + perhaps Usyk moving up take over the division in the post Wlad era.

Ruiz won't have anything by mid-late rounds. Parker stops him then.

Eric Molina would batter Ruiz Jnr, that's how bad he is.

I think this will be an entertaining fight as both are fast, powerful and pretty easy to hit. Those early rounds will be action packed with both men trading shots.

Ruiz Jr may have the quick hands but he has slow feet and is far too stationary and that will be the difference. Parker while not great on the back foot has enough movement, size and reach to punish Ruiz Jr on the way in. Just watch Ruiz Jr against Liakhovich and you'll see Andy is just too big and too easy a target, Parker will have a field day with just an open opponent.

There was a time when id say Ruiz hands were faster. He had damn fast hands for a fat mess.

    Parker should take this.

    Then hopefully the unifications begin...

A far more competitive match than most people think it'll be, at least to begin with, Andy will bring the pressure and the activity, it'll look like the Takam match for a little while, but eventually The Elephantine Destroyer will start taking too much punishment and be worn down and stopped late.

Its a pitythat Hughie and Ruiz didn't fight, I think Andy could have actually pulled that one off.

I think if Parker had a problem with Takam, he is going to have the same problem with Ruiz x 2. Ruiz has as good a jaw as Tkam and can hit faster and harder with both hands. Ruiz's speedy counters will shock Parker as will his inside game. Ruis is hittable and if Parker really has any power at the higher level, then it will have to be shown in this fight or he will lose this to a more determined fighter who knows his way to the finishing line

I do think it will be closer than a lot of people seem to think, but Parker did not fight well against Takam. If he had avoided gassing out and improved his defense just a little he would've won fairly easily. So I'm not sure that the comparison will necessarily hold.

I don't think Parker's power is going to be the deciding factor unless it is late on, personally I feel that Parker has decent power but nothing earth-shattering.

Rather, I predict a war in which Parker just manages to get past Ruiz Jr. I do not think Ruiz Jr has an advantage in either determination or experience. Ruiz Jr has problems with staying in shape which to me spells mental weakness, and Joe has shown his toughness against Takam. That experience should help him against Ruiz Jr.
