Parker is looking to fight on the undercard of an Anthony Joshua headlined event later this year and it sounds like David Haye could be considered a serious option... this could be very very interesting... http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11647491
Haye fighting a serious threat on someone's undercard? You know if they asked me the least likely fight ever to take place in today's boxing, I could actually name this scenario.
I guess they'd perhaps make it it's own event... I didn't read the article right through before sharing, oops
Parker has a very very tough night with Haye. More so than what he would with Joshua imo. And that is after the fact that I believe AJ beats Parker at this stage of his career. Parker should be fighting taller fighters who can push him back. If Barry has learned anything, Joe needs to learn how to go backwards properly.
The only way I see Parker beating Haye is if Hayes stamina plummeted to levels worse than Parkers since his retirement.
It won't happen. All risk...little reward, apart from cash. If his true ambition would be a title shot why risk a fight with Haye? Kevin Barry would simply say no.
Might as well fight no one and wait for a title shot then if that's Team Parkers attitude? Haye is not only a good pay day but also a huge scalp and massive publicity. Haye is still a very good fighter and Joe would have to be 10x better than he has ever been to beat him so its a great learning fight as well. If he had true ambition he would fight Haye imo, Haye isn't even elite in the division if you can't beat him don't bother turning up against Fury, Wlad, AJ and Wilder you will just get embarrassed.
true story. Beside the fact that Haye can move better and can bang a bit, and has a good beard......a fight with Haye is simply a fight that does not happen anytime soon thumbsup:hat
David haye ego is far bigger than any of his boxing skills . Fighting bum after bum. But a coward when it gets to the big boys. I wouldn't give him his payday
Parker is about to fight a nobody so he's following the script whilst protecting his title shot :hey Solomon Haumona is older, slower and might last 5-6 rounds if Parker bides his time and wants some ring time. hey:deal
Haye has more to lose fighting Parker than vice versa, Haye already has a reputation on the world stage, Joe is still developing. Joe fighting Haye is win, win, Haye has nothing to gain beating Parker he can still make good money fighting cobra mk II and waiting for a title shot which will come without having to take a risk. Haye loses to Joe and he might as well retire, Joe can still comeback from a loss to Haye he's only 24 nd can claim being too green.
I can't see Haye wanting the fight, too much risk for too little reward when he could just fight Joshua for a huge payday. If they did fight Haye's hand speed, counter punching and power could pose a serious threat to Parker. Parker is quick but he leaves himself open to be countered, his style suits Haye who likes fighters to come to him and then counters them.
