He ain't stepping up unless he's getting overPAID, see GGG-Jacobs. Money is not there for Parker unless them two appear on Joshua's summer undercard.
I think it would be a fairly close match up Parker is not overly impressive,(yet) but neither is Wilder ( stating the obvious, I know ) lol It would be tough to call
Amazed at the Wilder hate. No matter your opinion on his opposition, noone with half a boxing brain should be picking Parker here.
Parker might have looked less than impressive in his last few fights, but that's because he takes on real fighters and gives them more than a month to prepare, provided they don't bottle it at the last moment. He's notched up tons of quality rounds against a variety of dangerous and top level opponents and come out trumps every time. He's iron chinned, quick handed, able to go the distance or bomb people out as necessity dictates, can box on the backfoot or brawl in the trenches. He's confident, fearless and willing to travel, which means he keeps his composure under hostile conditions. He's also a lot younger and picking up new things every fight, plus he's unhampered by career threatening injuries. Stylistically he's also just a lot tougher for Wilder to land against than vice versa. He skips in and out of range well, strings punches together in blistering combinations, and rarely leaves himself exposed in attack. Wilder has the height and reach on him, but he's unlikely to use it the way he should and will likely try to brawl with Parker, where he'll be at a distinct disadvantage with his wild, sloppy blows. Parker takes him out. And this coming from a man who's been highly critical of Parker's last few performances. I just think very little of Mr Wilder as a top level operator.
I'd probably have to favor Wilder slightly. I just don't see anything in Parker. I don't know how he's survived this long.
Parker's 2 title defenses were against guys that literally ran away all night. He will look better against fighters that actually fight.
