Yeah I think it sells. The first fight Parker was a hair away from stopping Whyte in the 12th. The rematch is needed especially given their latest performances. At the end of the day it took Joyce 11 rounds to stop Parker (the only time he's ever lost via TKO), yet Whyte has been stopped several times since their last encounter. If Parker is a gatekeeper, surely Whyte is on the same level.

I think the first Whyte fight was interesting because they were both at different stages of their career, and that is the difference between it having had, and having little intetest in it today.

Regarding it being a better option, well I don't think it's realistic for Whyte who has far more lucrative options. People have forgotten about Parker and that fight imo.

I think it's the right move.

Parker will hang around the fringe of the division looking for a cash out when he'll be fed to a rising lion.

Whyte v AJ2. Whyte v Joyce. Whyte v Dubois. Whyte vs Adeleye. Whyte vs Clarke. Whyte vs Wardley.

Good yardstick fights plus some domestic rivalry fights. Whyte still carries power and people will come to see if he can be a banana skin. No one cares about Parker or his career imo.

Also imaigne the **** talk between AJ, Joyce, Wardley and Whyte etc. Parker would be a wet blanket in the lead up.

Also at this stage of his career a loss to Parker would do more damage than a points win would do to benefit him.

It's a very inglorious fight after Parker's downfall, but he finds an excuse in saying "this is for the home public and the development of boxing in Australia".

Whyte got knocked out by AJ, I just don't see the value in a rematch when AJ has better fights to pursue.

Joyce could face Whyte, but what has Joyce got to gain from it when he's nearing the end of his career in pursuit of a title shot?

The last 4 I wouldn't consider better than Parker, and would thus be a step backwards for Whyte.
