Yeah but there's some uncertainty there for me. Sparring Tyson should definitely toughen him up but just how hard was Tyson going? I think if he actually fought Tyson we'd get a better idea of where Hughies at. Good sparring partner to have though.

Not only Tyson, but all the other sparring partners they have hired over the years. He has been training with quality heavyweights for a while now.

Yeah and I expect him to be doing so because its routine for elite professionals to get in some quality sparring.

Joshua has said that he was only going easy in his spar against Klitschko. Sparring is the best fight prep and can get intense but fights will always be another level.

Just hypothetically here... Parker is not given much credit for what he has achieved so far by a lot of people, predominately those from the UK - there are a lot of possible outcomes to this fight, one of which is Parker catches Hughie cleanly in the first few rounds and takes him out. I'm not saying this is the most likely outcome, but it is CERTAINLY not implausible.

What then? Will Parker get credit for beating someone decent or will there be excuses and back peddling? Will Hughie be suddenly said to have a glass jaw?

It's hard to say if Parker's stock will rise of Fury's will just drop and Parker stay being considered as unproven like has more or less happened in the last few fights?

To be honest, I wouldnt be suprised if Parker knocks out Fury. Thats actually my expectation. So if Parker KOs Fury, I wont be on here saying I told you so to all of those whom Im well aware. Im actually looking past Fury.

I like Hughies footwork and he can box. Hes also had top sparring in Tyson and co and hes beaten Fred Kassi! For me, thats as good as it gets for Fury as theres really nothing more to add.

We have anti-Parker fans, those in limbo and the purists. A lot of the purists on here have given Parker the tick or slightly leaning towards Hughie. Parker knocking out Fury will sway those in limbo towards him. Parkers big showcase fights were 12 rounders and when you compare that to Joshuas big fights as well as fighting in the UK, you can see why Joshua has all the fans.

Haha, since saying this and somewhere else suggesting that when Price called out Parker that I wasn't sure that Price was going to be much different to the Dimitrenko fight - I wasn't necessarily expecting this weekend to play out like it did.

Dimitrenko really looks like he could end up filling the void that Price will leave when he retires, folding whenever he faces a legit contender and looking devastating against people who are not meant to be in the upper ranks. This definitely affirms my initial thought that Dimitrenko is as dangerous as he was ever was (which is all relative) but that Parker just had his number.

Nothing wrong with being a Parker fan and nothing wrong with being happy with this outcome. I would be happier to see a Fury starched out in similar fashion but that may not prove quite as easy. Time will tell though

Worth adding here, that his lose to Chambers was not a unanimous decision - and he did lose to Pulev by KO... but NOTHING like how he lost to Parker, it was an 11th round KO and Dimitrenko actually won rounds in that fight. He looked completely out of his depth against Parker, until someone else does that to him and so long has he's violently KO'd the opponents he's fought since Parker I'd say that perhaps Ruiz and Parker are better than a lot are giving them credit for.

The Ring has Ruiz as the #7 HW in the world, just saying ...

Just checked those rankings, some of them are good calls but some seem a little dubious. I can't see Pulev as #4 right now

Hughie has tremendous footwork and agilityI've been watching heavyweight boxing for 20 years and the only other heavy i've seen that moves as well laterally is Sanders.Parker has fast hands but is fairly flatfooted and walks forword in straight lines so is as a result a bit too easy to hit.Hughie has a 4 or 5 inch reach advantage over the Samoan which is significant. As an Englishman i hope and believe Hughie can go down there to New Zealand and ping Parker around the ring with the jab, give him angles, spin him ping him with the jab and not allow him to plant his feet.THE MAN HAS FLAT FEET AND IS EASY TO TAG,RUIZ WITH HIS MINUTE 72 INCH REACH HIT HIM AT WILL.If Hughie perfects the southpaw switch hitting then thats another puzzle for Parker to figure out.
