    Joseph Parkers original opponent, Vinnie Maddalone has been replaced by a much greater threat by the name of Irineu Costa Beato Junior.

    Beato Junior's record:

    won 15 (KO 13) + lost 1 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 16

    This should make for a much more interesting fight & show how Parker puts up with a higher calibre fighter.

    "Parker was to have been getting into the ring with New Yorker Vinny Maddelone, however in a statement Parker's connections said due to the demands from fans for a younger, tougher opponent they have opted to go with the 6'3ft (192cm) boxer.

    He's likely to be the hardest puncher Parker has ever faced; Costa is a knockout specialist having KOed 13 of his 15 opponents with 11 of those coming within in the first two rounds.

    Parker's trainer Kevin Barry says this is a 'risk versus reward' fight.

    "Everyone knows the last time Joe fought a tall Brazilian (Nascimento in Germany April 2014) he got his ear drum busted.

    "We were expecting an easier lead up to Christmas but have struggled attracting many of the top 15 rated guys and when one comes along we've got to take the fight, even if it is at a month's notice."

    Wow it's a big stretch to say this guy is top 15. He is currently #15 by the WBO due to some WBO trinket he holds but when the next rankings come out he won't be there due to a shutout points loss to the average Christian Hamer in his last fight.

    It's not a bad fight for a prospect like Parker but I feel his promoter is trying to dress Mutton up as lamb here.

    Watch the Hammer fight from last month against this guy. He may be heavy handed, but Prker is much faster then this guy and should win this.

    Just over a week away, should be an exciting fight - aside from the risk of a big hit getting home from Beato this should be another nice notch for Parker!

    Costa jr is going END Parker... He's not stopping there though, he aims to conquer the division and his eyes set on a 2015 showdown with Wlad! My money is on Costa Jr KO'ing Wlad, and unifying the division by 2016. :deal

    Has he become suddenly a huge amount better than he was in his fight with Christian Hammer a month ago? He will certainly need to if he hopes to achieve any making beating Wlad sound like a plausible mission.

    Focus on each obstacle as it comes, unfortunately confidence, hype or whatever you are on - in the real world he is very very unlikely to "end" Parker, IMHO there is an under 50% chance that Costa Jr will win but claiming a 100% demolition is a forecast based on evidence I've certainly not seen. Will pull this thread up for review regardless of outcome though!
