According to boxing scene they are in early talks for a fight that could happen sometime in the future. Thoughts?
Step back for Parker but after back to back losses it makes sense. Fa looks like a solid enough fighter and came in looking in good shape in his last fight. But he doesn't have much head movement, isn't a puncher and looks wide open for the right hand. It's also a huge jump up in class for Fa. Parker should win comfortably unless the losses have taken something from him.
Ooh I was calling for that like a year or two ago but of course back then Parker was on a trajectory for bigger & brighter things...now things have panned out that it may be the right time for it. Awesome!
Junior Fa and his team would be mad to take this fight. He's been struggling against very average opposition and has a long way to go before taking on someone of Parker's class. Guys like Fred Kassi/Malcolm Tann/Joey Dawejko should be targetted for Fa. Parker should be targetting Browne next.
This fight would be one big Meh to end all Meh's. Parker has been on a rampage of looking average and Fa looked absolutely horrid his last time out. That being said, Parker by wide UD.
It's called staying active and relevant. Parker has shown significant weaknesses in his last two fights, against two different styles. The guy needs a lot of work.
Some people wouldn't know a Kiwi superfite if it tapped them on the shoulder from behind & went bang. It's 2 and 2 between Parker & Fa. The question of who is the best heavyweight in the southern hemisphere needs to be answered. It's not going to happen next up mind you. Or even this year. But a couple of wins for each guy (against the likes of Lucas Browne & Alex Leapai) & then let's get it on. The King of the South needs to be crowned.
Sorry bud, this is not a SuperFight. The gen pop in New Zealand has no idea who Fa is. Duco would promote the hell out of Fa being the man that beat Parker in the amateurs. Unfortunately that has little pulling power now, being unbeatable isn't really a point of discussion anymore. Parker should fight Browne and then get back in the UK to fight a tune up like Price.
The King of the South needs to be crowned. It's 2 and 2 between the Samoan sledgehammer & Tongan behemoth. If the Kiwi public doesn't know who Junior Fa is, that's why they need to build the fight instead of doing it straight away. Put Junior Fa on the Parker v Lucas Browne undercard. Match him up with Alex Leapai & let's see some good old fashioned head-on-a-stake stuff. This will be primitive South Sea Islander warfare at its most fundamental. Let's get it on!
That's right it's anything but a superfight. It would have been bigger had Fa joined Duco instead of DiBella as they could have easily promoted him to become some sort of name but that ship has sailed and Fa has had awful showings on home soil lately against career loser Hunter Sam who could easily have been given a draw and lately against Luis Pascual a 5ft 10 midget. Parker after being 15-0 was massive here, Junior Fa would have about as much popularity down here as welterweight Bowyn Morgan.
Dont think it will happen. Joseph Parker vs Lucas Browne will be next. Makes a lot more money and a lot more sense.
