The fapping over Itauma is laughable. At this point he’s not worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Joseph Parker. This stuff reminds of all the self-stroking about Ngannou after he lost a tight rubber match to Fury.
For now, Parker, too experienced for Itauma, Itauma should not chase Tyson's record, it could cost him some kind of unnecessary defeat at this stage of his career...
I don’t but the hype until more has been proven either, I’d pick Parker handily right now, but I know some will pick Itauma who buy the hype. I just don’t think he can possibly have enough experience right now to beat someone like Parker.
Parker should be favorite but Itauma would stop him in the late rounds imo. The new generation is here and much more are coming, Parker will be a gatekeeper soon
I have to agree with you that the new generation is here, but let's not write off the old generation yet...
As of now IMO, Parker is far too experienced and street-smart for Itauma. He might not be as powerful and talented but Parker in the long-run will come to fight, come to prove himself, out-hustle, and outwit Itauma. I think it would be similar to Joyce V Dubois. Parker has a lot of tricks up his sleeves, and he will put them on display against someone quite unproven. Itauma has not fought anyone remotely close on the level of Parker, not has had much experience, nor has he gone past 6 rounds. In a few years I could see Itauma beating Parker.
The thing with Itauma is he has never gone past 6 rounds yet. I think Parker is a long shot for him right now. But if it’s for a title shot I would say **** it and take my chances anyways if I were Itauma.
JP is 33 he's a good few years left in him yet. We don't even know what moses gas tank will be like in "the late rounds" when he's up against someone the skill level of Parker. Moses has been 6 rounds twice, both points decisions. I'm a Moses fan I think the potential is big but right now JP gives him a lesson.
We haven't seen Moses go deep yet, who's to say he doesn't gas out by the fourth round, and be holding on for dear life from that point on? Also let's take a step back and ask ourselves the question how many literal fatalities would Zhang have on his resume if he fought the menagerie of bums that Itauma has fought to date. He sparks every one of them out and frighteningly, most likely with grazing shots. There's levels here, his best win is over McKean, who he had the benefit of being a fellow southpaw against. He's yet to take on a live body that knows how to deal with southpaws and neutralize their advantages, with solid whiskers. Parker is one of those guys, so barring Itauma landing a lucky shot early, Parker cruises to a pretty wide UD, possibly scores a late KO.
Heard the kid on TalkSport the other day and he had a refreshing attitude. He says remaining undefeated is not important to him, he wants challenges and is not arrogant/deluded enough to think this won't mean he will lose now and again. I thought it was nice to hear a young fighter with such a grounded outlook
Itauma is nothing but a prospect right now, he hasn't done a thing to suggest he'd even be competitive. Parker with all his experience at the top level takes him deep and drowns him right now. In 2-3 years it maybe a different story, we have to see how Itauma develops. He could be the next dominant heavyweight or he could be just another in a long line of prospects who get found out when they step up in class.
