I don't see Parker being much trouble for Usyk. Not a huge, physical heavyweight with a big punch, or anything. Good boxer, but a short reach, and not as good as Usyk. Usyk hate...3...2...1...
With an extra two inches in reach Usyk would stay the busier of the two and coast on his way to a clear UD. Seen this thread a few times now, some with polls, but it’s usually the same. There is nothing Parker does particularly better than Usyk. Unlike Fury, Parker doesn’t have a truly large enough size advantage for it to matter. Unlike AJ or Wilder, Parker doesn’t have enough power to keep Usyk afraid.
I see it being similar to Hughie Fury vs Parker. Parker could barely lay a glove on Hughie all night and restorted to chasing him around the ring ring swinging wildly. The only difference is Usyk would pittar-patter enough shots to take the decision.
Cmon how can you even say that. Him barley loosing to whyte doesnt mean he's barley a top 10. Styles make fights. Usyk would beat him but usyk beats everyone except fury and POSSIBLY joshua
True, It just seems like he's content to make it a close fight with the elite fighters. He looked terrible against Hughie Fury and he doesn't seem to have any urgency in his fights.
This fight is actually likely to happen Parker is a naturally BIG HW. Usyk fights comfortably at CW I pick Parker
He outboxes Parker. Parker is at his best against a stationary target where he can set his feet and unload his combinations. As he moved up in class those combinations vanished because guys would move or push him back making him move and not allow him to set his feet. Someone as agile as Usyk would have him throwing single shots all night and that wouldn't be enough against the more skilled Usyk. Parker will not doubt have some moments, he is fast, he is durable, has decent power so will likely see the final bell but he'll be left frustrated and never really be in control.
Usyk easily outboxes Parker. Parker is extremely readable and repetitive in what he does; his key attributes are his fast hands and decent chin. He doesn't have huge power, isn't particularly awkward or hard to hit, moves in straight lines, and simply doesn't have a very good boxing brain. Usyk would figure him out extremely early and then just go to work winning round after round. Parker likely goes into a mental shell and has no idea what to do, though his heart and chin keep him in the fight till the final bell.
