Joseph Parker vs Oleksandr Usyk

Usyk would simply outbox Parker to a points decision.

Parker is not huge compared to Usyk. If they had the same BF% it would be less than 10 pounds.

 

Parker at fighting weight is naturally about 30 pounds heavier than Usyk - and clearly much bigger.

Usyk gets slower the more he tries to bulk up

 

Nah. Them island boys is built different. Parker wasn’t even within reach of cruiserweight as an 18 year old boy.

 

Parker's relatively slimline for a Samoan. Not one of those stocky fireplugs like Tua or a big-boned muddafugga like Hunt. He's nowhere near CW these days, but if he trained for speed I wouldn't be shocked to see him in the 220s somewhere.

 

I think he's passed that point of ever really stepping up his game. The guy's been stuck in a rut for years now, and he'll only get worse as his athleticism begins to wane with age. He already looks slower and sloppier than he did when he first burst on the scene, and the added weight he's put on hasn't really affected his punching power in any beneficial way.

In terms of raw power I actually think he's around Povetkin's level, but where Povetkin sets traps, doubles shots, works angles Parker just blats away with the same combinations all night long. Guys like that don't tend to enjoy an Indian Summer late in their career because they don't have the experience to supplement their waning physical gifts.

 

I am hoping Parker will stay fighting until age 33 or so.

He is just coming into his prime now - and we have yet to see his full potential.

 

For Parker’s sake he may want to find out who the referee is. Giuseppe Quartarone introduce the fighters...Parker’s nightmare

 

Usyk would likely outbox Parker to a close but fairly clear decision

 

Parker is far too nice to be an elite level boxer.

Anyone elite with any modicum of a winning mentality beats him. Usyk has no problems at all with him as he doesn’t have the power or nastiness to cause him any problems.

It would a regulation 8-4 style UD for Usyk.
