I wouldn't go that far, though it might tell us something about his future intentions, if that's what you mean. At any rate, he's been fighting thankless guys for years. I think he's entitled to a high-paying gimme fight right now.
That's quite a risk. No one really knows how good Hunter is at HW, though his win over Ustinov shows that he's clearly not too shabby. Trouble is he's not particularly well known or highly ranked at the moment so Parker doesn't stand to gain too much from a win, and a whole lot to lose if he struggles to a closely-fought decision (as may be the case) or even just loses. It's a fight with very little upside right now.
If he starts to make a habit of it then yes, I'd agree with you. A one off local fight against a big name but easy opponent is nothing that other top fighters haven't done or will do, however.
He just needs to build on his success. After losing to AJ and Whyte, Parker has clearly had a reassessment of his position and future in boxing, he just needs to keep momentum and keep fighting. Some boxers take a dip and come back stronger for it. I do suspect Parker is this sort of boxer, one who can bounce back stronger and smarter both physically and mentally. The division is in uncertainty and a black horse like Parker could change things, for the next step he just needs another fight maybe someone like Kownacki or Breazeale.
I'd like to see him fight Sergey Kuzmin, or maybe Michael Hunter... 2 boxers coming off of impressive wins... it could be a big fight for new zealand market. Maybe even Charles Martin, he is still deadly, despite being robbed in the Kownacki fight.
The Martin kownacki fight was not a robbery. Kinda close fight I spose but kownacki clearly won. Martin is a better fighter than people give him credit for.
I'd probably go that route as well if I was managing him. Angle for a few tough but winnable fights in the UK then try to go for a Whyte rematch again (or a Chisora fight, if by some miracle he pulls it off).
