I was agreeing with you, no sense in Parker vs Ortiz. Parker needs building up again slowly, chucking him in with Ortiz at this stage could destroy him mentally. Let him do his thing down under for a bit, hes still young. Commendable of Hearn not to execute the promotional options he had on Parker. Dude was falling down the Matchroom staircase

But I do not think Parker should fight Chisora after his loss

Well, Parker won't be getting Dillian Whyte after his win.

In terms of fights in the UK, I'd say the most likely opponents to be offered would be Usyk, Hunter, Chisora or Takam.

If Usyk stays at cruiser, that leaves a guy I don't think Parker would beat (Hunter), a guy Parker has already beaten (Takam) and Chisora.

I'd say Chisora is the best fight Parker could get in the UK right now.

Fight Browne and then hope for an opening.

Parker still has a "name" - especially in UK...

Parker is done, finished. Ortiz would ruin him and I'm pretty confident Chisora beats him.

It's possible for a fighter to burn out early, though I don't see any evidence of that happening to Parker as of yet. He's hit his ceiling though, and needs to change things up before it's too late. I don't see him doing that, and therefore I don't hold out too much hope for his success in the future. He's likely going to be one of those nearly men that always falls short at world level.

Parker and his team are too simplistic. He gets beaten in a dirty fight so his team start talking about punching people in the balls, and actually go out and carry out that plan in front of an overawed ref. Parker should have been deducted a point and Flores given 5 minutes to recover after that shocking low blow/knock down combo.

The reason Whyte was successful with his rough house tactics were that they were somewhat subtle. Kevin Barry does not operate in these subtleties of the game and Parker is far too loyal.

I agree with all you say.

But I can't help feeling.... Parker has the goods to surprise us all. A 30-year old Parker will be a BEAST in my view. Great trainer or not.

I think he'll be world level. But he could easily be top 4 or 5 in the world reasonably quickly with a new trainer.

Parker with his lateral movement, defense and counter skills improved could really test Wilder.

I do think a new trainer would be good but he pretty much beat Whyte and had him on the floor in the last round..

The same guy who ktfo Browne and Chisora plus has been on a winning streak since hurting his shoulder..
