He's fought twice this year and no, not many are interested in him anymore. Nothing more than a gatekeeper these days.
Him and Whyte were always placeholders for the young, real dangerous top contenders hopefully to come.
I always wanted to see Parker against Hrgovic and it's a real shame that they didn't fight in the pros, but they still get to fight in the future...
Parker was an exciting prospect who packed some power. He stopped something like 18 of his first 21 opponents. But as the quality of his opponents increased his power also seemed to fall away. I believe he had shoulder trouble too and had an operation or two on them and that may have been part of the problem. Not sure if it was because of Parker's diminishing power, but Kevin Barry had him fighting in a very cautious manner towards the end of their association. I thought Parker was a bit unlucky against Whyte. That clash of heads didn't help.
