So it's been talked about a lot that Joe has not been looking as devastating in the last couple years or so since stepping up and injuries keep being quietly mentioned. This may explain the much more positive Parker we've been seeing lately - as well as the noises coming from the Parker camp suggesting that he is looking on career best form http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=12018013&ref=NZH_fb
Parker might surprise us all, you just never know, still, I worry about the home town judges, referee and boxing commission..................
He could be in career-best form but I dont see that making much of a difference. He hasn't been in with anyone near as good as Joshua or powerful. Parker has a chance but he has to drag the fight late, make Joshua work for every minute but he has lots to overcome to do that. I think his toughness will make it difficult for Joshua but I still see AJ getting the W. If Joshua can turn his jab into a real weapon then the fights his to loose.
To be fair ... Joshua hasn't been in with another young lion either. His best win is a life and death fight against 41 year old coming off a long break after a dominant loss and his second best win was against someone Parker also beat but in his first step up fight when it is wildly known he was suffering injury set backs
AJ is taking him very seriously, dismissing nearly all talk of Wilder, coming in leaner and faster. Parker's hardcore fans are grasping at thin air when they say AJ is overlooking him. He is not at all. AJ will come in 110% and JP won't be able to keep up, AJ has proven he can take it up another level when need be.
All valid. As someone else has said I don't see Parker beating even that version of Wlad. I class that win as similar to Hatton Vs Kosta. The great names were faded but still had plenty to offer in the fight. Takem really has been a fringe fighter for a number of years facing a number of well past it names, Botha, Grant etc. He lost against Parker but Parker dropped rounds did injuries happen performance - possibly but most fighters carry some niggle to the ring and Parker Takem was 2 years ago and he's not looked great since Dimitrenko (who was never all that anyway).. Takem is a tricky fighter but with the recent run of matchups and results, I just don't think Parker is elite. Joshua struggled at times with Takem but barely lost around and while the stoppage was needless at that point the fight was only going one way. No one fights at heavy like Takem does at the mo with his use of head movement etc so its a good learning fight for Joshua. Parker will be much more up right and easier to hit. It's not a foregone conclusion but Joshua is the heavy favourite
There was no constructive points to argue with. I slipped from my normal form and got dragged down to the level of someone doing little more than trolling and risking ending up looking like a tool as well so you actually did raise a point with some merit there, finally. Duly noted - I'll ignore your half assed comments and keep on topic from here.
Injuries or not he shouldn’t of bulked up in weight, this big fight might have been just the motivation he needed to get back down in weight but it’s crazy that this is the first fight we’re he’s has a professional nutritionist.
I agree. Joey's chin is just too durable. But I believe it would be quite similar to the Jennings fight or ugly like the Povetkin fight. Joey being stupid ala Pulev would be stupid though. That L hook is an automatic
