Pérez is just nailing the ribs of Díaz with compact hooks from mid-range. Díaz is getting backed up by the smaller man (he looks to have rehydrated to at least ten pounds more than Pérez) and forced to give ground in exchanges. Pérez is chipping away downstairs with uppercuts, now bringing a shoeshine up to Díaz's face as the American flails at him with right hooks.

Round 5

Díaz scores with a right jab and double left uppercut after they clash heads and the ref gives them a nod of "alright" without breaking the action. Díaz is coming on, plowing forward and combining right hooks with left uppercuts to drive Pérez into the ropes, all while blocking counter 1-2s which then see him in turn driven into the ropes. Díaz picks up and throws Pérez in between the ropes, wtf??!?!
