If Smith keeps hitting his gloves with power he will sap his own strength unless he works at a heavy bag pace

Geffard is able to find an opening from time to time and land clean enough that Smith can't completely steamroll him. But he can't sustain his offense and probably isn't winning of these these early rounds as a result.

that's why I hate this strategy. He burnt 3 rounds, 3 full points. This strategy is betting that you will win by ko once the other guy is exhausted. I hate it. I dont like it at all.

Smith made his first really serious play for a KO in the last minute of the fourth. Again, kudos to Geffrard hanging tough.

    Round 1 Smith Jr. 10-9
    Round 2 Smith Jr. 10-9
    Round 3 Smith Jr. 10-9
    Round 4 Smith Jr. 10-9

Joe wins round easily, unloading for almost 20 seconds flush with looping rights.

Smith hit him with an uppercut to the body that caused a big inhale. More of those and he closes the show quickly.

smith takes round 4. he stole it late, but geffrard is a way better boxer than the champ.

    Round 1 - 10-9 Smith
    Round 2 - 10-9 Smith
    Round 3 - 10-9 Smith
    Round 4 - 10-9 Smith

    Smith 40-36

Geffrard unwilling to trade. Only throws when Smith is inactive. The challenger is not winning the decision this way.

Steve is still there and Smith just lost a ton of energy hitting gloves

Beautiful, Joe Smith unloaded in that round to the body and head. Geffrard still there but got clocked.

Geffrard starting to wilt slowly. Not that it matters. There’s no drama here. This guy doesn’t have the power to put Smith out.

4 to 0 but The challenger made it close with some good work.

I almost think Joe Jr. looks bored which I don't think is ever a good idea when facing (occasionally) live ammo.
