But he only does it for 20 seconds and he doesn't really land much. Joe is not only outslugging him, he's outboxing him.

Smith needs to throw up the middle Geffrard is just block those looping shots but his gloves need to be split for him to see so they are open unless Geffrard has been taught the art of catching

Smith seems to be trying a lot of different things to make his power land. I can understand not having a gameplan for a short notice opponent but pick a tactic and work on it for more than half a round.

JS is landing at least 9 punches for every punch received according to the stats. Its just not enough from Geffrard regardless of how slick he moves

Geffrard has barely landed anything, while most of Smith's power shots at least partially get through. Absorbing half of the impact on your gloves still leaves the other half that's, you know, scoring and dealing out damage. Obviously a flush unimpeded shot would count for more than a partially blocked one, but Smith is partially landing far more of his bombs than Geffrard is touching him with timid counters. You're being contrarian for the sake of doing so. Geffrard is doing well to survive this late but he's getting washed.

if a shot is blocked, its not scored. Yes there is damage, but its not scored.

Joe just toying with him now. Plays with him for two minutes, then pounds the dogpiss out of him in the last minute.
