True. One's more important and the other a better fight.

I’ve always favoured Joe. But I think that it would have been a lot more competitive than what most people believe.

I think a Joe vs Ward fight would have been horrible, and similar to the Hopkins fight.

But Joe vs Carl would have produced fireworks.

The pressers and weigh-ins etc would have been great.

    Two huge egos.

A lot of talking both inside and outside of the ring, which in my opinion, would have lead to a shootout.

It’s a shame that we never got to see it.

Calzaghe would make Froch look glacial. I like Froch a lot and his grit and chin would keep him competitive, but Calzaghe would outbox him. Froch might lure him into a brawl, but Joe likes a brawl.

Head says Joe, heart says Froch.

    But I'm going with Froch.

I was never a Calzaghe fan but did like Froch as a fighter, but simply put Calzaghe was the faster better boxer and had the better engine to win by UD had they fought. Froch was tough and would absolutely travel anywhere to get the big fights but he had quite a few fights in which he won by coming from behind due to his fitness and toughness,Calzaghe would have just put round after round in the bag and would not tire on his way to winning by UD .

I was never a.particular Calzaghe fan... got fed up of him, at the time, feasting on fringe fighters and only rearing his head at the end of his career to fight the (past their best) big names of his era, Kessler excluded. So I always felt I never got a proper handle on how good he actually was. Froch, for me, even though he lost, faced much better overall competition.
Even though I would take Carl's resume over a lower quality unbeaten one, my hunch is that Calzaghe may have been too slick for him.

The Cobra cannot win this fight. In his own words, he couldn't beat Super Joe on points and the only way he could win is via knocking him out or via stoppage and that just wouldn't happen. Super Joe had an iron chin and a huge heart too.

Super Joe might have been down a couple more times than The Cobra but his punch resistance was no longer what it once was by the end of his career and The Cobra was actually hurt a whole bunch of times where he didn't actually touch down.

I remember seeing his knees dip a bunch of times and had one of his opponents given him a little shove as they did so like B-Hop did against Super Joe he likely would've touched down too.

Super Joe is just too fast, skilled, tough, versatile, fit and busy for The Cobra. It would've been a good fight but the speed advantage alone would've made things very difficult for The Cobra. And obviously we're talking about a prime healthy focused version of Super Joe with a full camp of sparring not the no to little sparring distracted injury-ravaged mess we saw too often at stages of his career.

Even Froch admitted that he would have to KO Zags - and I just can't see how that could happen.

JC too buy and outworks and bamoboozles Froch on way to lopsided UD

I really like the recent Froch videos, especially since his lovely wife Rachael has been making appearances.

Froch one of my favorite boxers, HOF, the Cobra, fought before 80,000 in Wembley.

But Joey C wins on points. Too slick, too fast, too slappy.

Calzaghe would have outboxed Froch pretty easily . Froch was a warrior, great chin and heart and work engine but he wasn't fast enough for the likes of Calzaghe.

    Calzaghe points

Frock by tko/ko is one thing, but why would anyone pick him on points? He's never winning a decision against Joe. He has been on record more than one occasion admitting he would need to stop him

Exactly Calzaghe at times liked a brawl and sometimes it wasn't always to his best advantage.

I think regarding eye test though Calzaghe does look like the better fighter his performances against Eubank, Lacy, Kessler, for me make him a notch above Froch who is a bit crude at times with no defence.

But in fairness to Froch he was a hard man and his performance against Bute was a standout performance, and if hes in that type of form I think he gives Calzaghe a rough night.

But I think overall Calzaghe's extra class would earn him a tough decision.

PS Calzaghe and Froch discussed a fantasy fight between the two years ago, and Froch said he would have to KO Calzaghe as he didn't think he could win a decision.

    Hey.

Did you know that Carl Froch fought Wembley in front of 80,000 George Groves's?
