he an absolute warrior. he has the ill fight anyone mentality. maybe he knew it was smart to decline the canelo fight, but its hard when u see a significant difference in the earnings your makin if you accept the fight.

Lopez will be a force when he gets 2 the weight he belongs. idk if its 140 or 147. but theres plenty of fights for him . he can fight a guy like soto-karass at 147. or even a guy like mike jones.

he can khan at 147 or 140. prescott, mcksloskey. plenty of winnable bounce back fights before he goes for the top of top of the division

I ****ing love this guy, he took a horrible beating in an unfair fight and never stopped trying, even after those brutal body shots, everything josesito threw had bad intentions. what a warrior.

I understand trying to make a name for yourself and getting these life time opportunities. But his team should have done a better job and be more realistic when they got offer and sign to fight Canelo at 154. It's just too hard jumping two weight classes and fighting someone like Canelo who is fresh and hasn't been in a war yet within a year. Though he won the fight against Ortiz, he was getting hit with real hard shots and was hit a lot. His team should have allow him to rest or take on easir tune up fight. Props to Lopez for being a brave fighter, but that sometimes could hurt you in the longer run. It's time for Canelo to step up now and fight at least a top 10 fighter in his weight class by the way.

He's a tough guy without question. He also had to take the long hard road to get noticed, and he did it.
Hopefully now he will take a rest, he's been beaten up pretty bad twice in 3 months. He needs six months off. With the experience he gained on the big stage against two very solid fighters who both were bigger and stonger men, I think he can take that and turn it into something.
I'm not sure he can make 140 anymore comfortably, and things won't be easy at 147, but anybody that fights him will find themselves in a war where you may have to kill the guy to get him to stop coming.
Most guys in his situation last night would have been looking for a way out after the first KD, but he never did. True warrior.

If Josesito is one of the champs at 147, I'll give him a pass accepting an offer to fight a champion at 154 lbs division but he's not...

i'm a Josesito fan for life. he's a throwback fighter who gives it his all. would rather watch him than the Andre Wards and Chad Dawsons of the sports any day of the week.

:think More so people like Lopez. Not so much like Maidana.

Throwing everything you have into punches that are thrown correctly (technically speaking) represents the sport better than spending most of your time slapping chaotically with heavy arm punches.

Well, that isn't what you said to start off with...

Second, he obviously believed to the fullest that he did have a chance with the gameplan he brought. (and had Canelo buckled mentally under adversity the way, say, a Victor Ortiz does, he may well have pulled it off)

Third, you're not one of those who thinks him beating Ortiz was some lucky fluke - are you? Cringeworthy stance. He was down on the judges' cards, but up on mine - and he had all the momentum. Yes, yes, the jaw had been damaged for a while...but take the break out of the equation altogether, Josesito still managed to stand up to Victor's best punches (and yes, Victor threw his best at him...the broken jaw didn't affect or change his offense, same wide hooks as ever) and walked through it and came right back at Victor. That would have still terrified Ortiz and put him into full panic mode, even without the injury.

To suggest that Josesito can't hang with top guys except through a lucky fluke injury (which seems to be what you're suggesting) is ludicrous. He's more than proven he's a top guy by way of springing that very legitimate upset, and by hanging tough with Canelo for as long as he did despite giving up so much.
