He's only good at talking about others which is one of the many reasons I'm not a fan.

I watched the fight live on Saturday and honestly had a hard time making sense of what I was seeing.

I've always been a fan of Josh Taylor followed him from his early days as a pro so not neutral in that sense but that aside rated him as clearly world class. Beating 3 undefeated world champions back to back, and doing it in the style he did it too proved that.

Having watched Catterall 4-5 times I thought he was good not great- a couple of levels below most likely. I didn't see a single attribute that would trouble Josh.

After 6 rounds I could not give Josh more than 1! Catterall was in total control for me, winning comfortably, Josh looked lost and confused, he just couldn't land anything, lost his shape, coming forwards but it was blind aggression a lot of time with little to no end product for a lot of the fight. He did win some of the final rounds as at that point he knew the fight was slipping away so had to take risks but even so 3-4 rounds is what I could have given him, and that's as a fan of his.

The only explanation I can offer is he celebrated a little too much after unifying (understandable I suppose), came in heavy due to that, had to cut his first camp short due to knee injury and underestimated Jack massively. I think the later is a big factor here. He will not admit it but I do think he took winning this fight for granted as Jack can look a bit timid and underwhelming so I think Josh thought he would blow him away in 5-6 rounds.

Weight wise he didn't really look too different to me than be does before. He's 30-31 and not the longest career in the world so with a good camp should still be able to get to 140 safely. Might be in the minority but I am not overly convinced about him at 147 at really top level. I'm also not sure what big and/or title fight is there for him at 147 in short to medium term.

If he has enough money, he must surely be a multi millionaire already, I think he should simply retire at the top and go down as one of the greats in the UK.

His career from here could go rapidly downhill due to both age and higher weight division. Crawford will do a number on him although he will get very good loot.

Nothing left to prove and could easily end his career with a few defeats.

Agree 100% with the last part- if he fights on a 147 at top level he will for sure end up with some defeats and his legacy of coming from nowhere and achieving the impossible will be tarnished. Not sure if he can afford to comfortably retire though mate. Not with the lifestyle he would like to enjoy and his misses would expect. As far as I know he bought a nice house in London pre/post Prograis fight so that would have eaten up most of the net earnings from the WBSS.

The first 6 rounds I honestly could not believe it was Josh in there. He was awful, as good as Catterall was he did nothing which Josh would not have come across as an experienced world class boxer weather as an amateur/pro/sparring, I tend to think it was a case of how bad Josh Taylor was as opposed to Catterall being that special.

There was something badly wrong with Josh, weight related to overindulging, poor camp, over confidence, still possibly injured to a degree?

Maybe all of these things played a part.

I think Crawford is too good for him and Spence is too big for him and just hits far too hard. The four belts at 147 are (well will be in April) held by them other than that what's out there for him at 147 domestically? There's no clear high profile fight that pays well.

No way would Hearn contemplate a fight with Benn as Josh would bounce him around the ring....

He even joked about it himself that he came back after the Ramirez fight overweight after lots of pizza, Chinese food etc. Had a knee injury which stopped his cardio, then got covid, then had a chest infection. Meant his weight cut started very late.

    I'm not Taylor himself, promise.

Robert Smith is spouting his usual bollocks calling us all idiots. Apparently we didn't score it correctly and were influenced by the commentary and all the people in the arena were chatting to their mates and not watching the fight. In other words WDKSAB.

That guy nordic warrior is a Taylor fanboy and a racist. And from listening to some of his vids he's mentally unwell too.

McDermott landed 10 more punches according to the stats. Catterall landed 50 more, and scored a knockdown.

Funny how some of the same people who call McDermott Fury a robbery, are saying Taylor beat Catterall.

No consistency at all. Brixton Bomber-like tripping up over themselves.

    True.

Citing 'Nordic Warrior', a genuine halfwit, is probably about as low as it gets.

I think it's probably more delusion than upset. That's what drugs do.
