King was hell of an amatuer, great to seeing him pass it over to the pro ranks. Agree with Mick Katsidis statement aswell.
Whoops..yep a quick double check...yes Mick Shaw....all action Mick Shaw....nice match up....great fights for the fans.
Josh will be kept busy over the next couple of months starting friday night at the Mansfield in Brisvegas....first up he's got Abner Llanasa over 8....then Ruben Kennedy over 6 at the same venue 4 weeks later....then back to Townsville in early november for a Aussie title shot against either Solomon Egberime or Ray Anton Olarte....he should roll over Llanasa and Kennedy and hopefully into good enough fighting form to be a chance of knockin' off Egberime or Olarte.
Good to see King's keeping busy. Was impressed with his performance on FOXTEL a few weeks back against Langham. But not sure what Langham was thinking that night. Guess the pressure just got to him, but it certainly was a most indifferent performance.
Josh has got the potential to really go places....he's got an awesome kit of rips and hooks,a granite chin and almost the power of a middleweight...his biggest issue is weight...if he could sneak down to lightweight he could be a sensation
Bear in mind this fight against Levini was Josh's Pro debut(at welter) after a 5 year lay off...a real baptism of fire....Tui Levini was red hot in this fight too.
Props to him for taking the fight, Tui was red hot at the time and i was a bit suprized to see this fight on Kings record as his debut.
hehe.....that was good to have another look at that fight....without the knockdown it could've been a different story....pretty hard to peg 'em back in a 4 rounder....Tui Levini is a tough first up assignment in anyones book....nice fight aye.
Josh scored on 3rd round tko over Abner Llanasa in Brisbane on friday nite too...apparently Llanasa proved a handful for a couple of rounds until Josh got in his grove and ended the fight.
I think Josh still has a long way to go it seems like he must have a new team the way they are bringing him along!
Certainly Josh has a long way to go but as he gains experience he'll be well placed to challenge the topliners at his weight. He took a hard lesson out of his fight with Llanasa in that he underestimated his Fillipino opponent and failed to close to show when he had him hurt in the first round...Josh stepped back rather than jump on him in the hope of getting a few rounds....bad mistake...as Llanasa came back to hurt Josh in the 2nd....Josh put the pedal down in the 3rd to get Llanasa out of there but had a little scare along the way....I don't think Josh will make that same mistake again....
Josh's opponent for the Mansfield show has fallen through Ruben Kennedy has hurt himself in a work related accident....hopefully he can get a late replacement.
Ruben has come out on another forum and apoligized for pullin' out...bloody nice gesture..sounds like a good bloke ....hope your back and fit to fight again soon champ.:good
