I'm sure many people can think of better technical (or deserved) matchups, but these are two dudes that have raw personalities, killer instinct and will no doubt try to murder each other. That in itself, makes it a good matchup. Plus I have a feeling Kos will try to slug it out, and I just want to see someone once and for all prove to Kos (cuz we already know it) that his hands suck and he has no business trying to box, when the only thing he has is a sloppy looping overhand right that (while devastating) is redundant, easy to predict, and easy to time. Lawlor by KO, via a swift unexpected well timed short hook or uppercut.
stupid fight. Easy UD for Kos. Everybody accepts Lawler for what he is, an exciting brawler that will never be champ. Why put him in with a notorious wrestler when he could make fireworks with someone else? stupid matchmaking, maybe the UFC wants to give their boy Kos a name win to try to put him back in the spotlight....i dunno
Tim Kennedy is inked to fight at MW, but I think WW is a terrible move. Robbie Lawler's stock is higher and just better known. I believe DYK is a legit Contender, but let's not forget he was TKO'd by a muscle spasm, and punched out sick style against CC. Hard sell imo. I don't think I've ever seen Siyar fight, so I will check him out, but these are good matches. Robbie Lawler has been around for years, fought almost everybody, and I'm looking forward to him fighting Koscheck because imo, Koscheck has given us his best and I don't think he has the talent to climb any higher. So, we shall see how what's left, and how these two personalities perform on MMA's Biggest Stage!
Siyar and Lawler would just be so much fun. Koscheck Vs Lawler is, at first glance at least, a mismatch. I do think that if Koscheck tries his sloppy ass striking Lawler can remind him his eye socket is ****ed, but I doubt he will. At this point of time, Hendricks>>>>>Lawler. I can't see this being close. Kim is a strong judoka with a rounded skillset, but not much power. It'd be a more interesting battle IMO, and as Kos is pretty much in policeman mode now, he's the kinda' guy Kim needs to progress. If Lawler smashes the 170lb gatekeeper he moves right up. Seems a little unrealistic to me. He doesn't deserve this opportunity is what I'm getting at. Kos Vs Nate Marquadt on the other hand.....
Many, many good points. I also feel Koscheck may stink up the joint, possibly have the crowd booing in the final minute. As far as I'm concerned, Marquardt is right up there with the #1 Contender if he defends the SF Title. After UFC 158, we could have a few good Contenders for Marquardt to fight. Marquardt v MacDonald or CC would be huge... That beating Nate M gave Woodley was brutal, criminal. He is a true Mixed Martial Artist, and we got to see his a full set of skills that night. 2013 will be another great year, even better imo.
Yeah, I just hope Nate ****s of out of Tristar if Rory comes up. Which of course would lead to GSP of Nate gets to him. I give Nate a free pass for the 'roids just for trucking Woodley, who is one of the most tedious fighters of the modern era. I loved it, absolutely loved it. If Maia gets through Fitch I would love to see a rematch at 170lbs with Nate The Great.
